Among all FBS players with 100+ carries, Wright leads the nation...

There are two backs with more yards as well, and they both have more carries. At 7.51 yards plus the attempts differential Jaylen would be number one. I know it doesn't quite work out that way however.

Just remember, the more attempts the more accurate that statistic gets because the additional attempts soften the impact of big plays either positive or negative. So the higher that attempt number the more that average yards tell you about the player and his team.

I’d really like to see what Wright can do with more of a starting back work load. I like how we keep them fresh but he’s only getting 12 carries a game. I want to see his numbers and production at 17-20 a game. I’d imagine he’d be averaging somewhere north of 150 yards a game. Again this is not a complaint. I love seeing Small and Sampson getting to tote the rock but I’d like to see Wright get a full work load just to see what kind of numbers he would put up.

And, in the spirit of historic Tennessee football trivia, what former UT running back significantly eclipsed Jaylen's current average as an NFL rookie?

That NMSU back is killing it.

Is James at Oregon the back from Nashville? I see Lloyd is putting together a nice season after leaving South Carolina. The Pac-12 doesn't play defense though.

He would’ve hit 1,000 yards 3 games ago imo.

Oh k, I'm here to kill the fun. Lloyd just needs one more carry to be number one lol

I get that. But, seeing that after 3 runs he's usually tapping his helmet for relief, I'd say he's getting plenty.

But man after that UK touchdown and the long one v UConn, I realized that boi is fast. Watched the UK again and noticed he was leaving that corner when he drove and swiped at him. He just flat out left all three UConn DBs. Just never saw him as a speedster.

He’s got that gear if he breaks out but his money is gonna be made with vision and the moves in the defense front 7. Dude is almost a guaranteed 5 yard run. Beast

Yeah he’s got it all. Break away speed. Power to run though arm tackles. Great balance. Impressive patience and vision

Nope, 'twas a player for Neyland. That should narrow your options considerably. As an NFL rookie, he averaged almost one full yard per carry more for the entire season than Jaylen currently is averaging for the 2023 campaign. During that year, he also became the first NFL running back in history to gain 1,000 yards rushing.
