I was told by one of the organizers of the game (he is a big Gator fan) that the thing that had stood out to him all week was how close all the Florida commitments were all week long. They hung together, razzed recruits from other schools (talking trash, etc.). He also said that Dunkley and Easley were right in the middle of it. However, I still did not think Easley would commit to us today. Isn’t it nice to have some recruit “shock the world” in our favor for a change?
Dunkley and Dowling wowed them all week long and the best player on the field today was Easley.
I am not worried about Mack Brown! He will be a Gator although there are all kinds of smoke around him. He is a class kid and has repeatedly said he is solid to UF, I believe him.
I am not giving up on Elam and would hope that we all can refrain from trashing him on this board. His Mama wants him at UF, his coach wants him at UF and he has been a committed recruit for a year. He loves Meyer and once Meyer has the opportunity to talk to him I honestly believe he will switch once again. I am told that Elam, Brown and Powell are Meyer’s top priorities to firm up as soon as possible. I still say we end up with the top class in at least one of the services.

thought some of you might find it interesting

I agree, if he is on leave, can he call recruits....that doesn't seem right. I thought about that this last weekend, when ESPN was running the quote from Mack Brown that Meyer told him he would be back in August.

Is Meyer pulling a Favre. Doesn't want to go through spring practice, just the games....:)

He's still under contract as UF's head coach. Thus, he can do anything any other head coach does.

Don't meangless biased quotes from a gator homer belong on a Gators board and not a Vols board?

FSU thinks Brown is all theirs. Alot of rumors that he has already committed to them behind the scenes...

lol Yeah look how the Elam thing worked out...I called Matt to FSU a week ago and some gators laughed it off and some still think he's still going to head to Gainesville lol

If UF doesn't hire a good rb coach then Mack will go elsewhere...he stated in the past that he wants to run out of pro/I offense but stayed with UF because of his parents relationship with Meyer and his HS coach relationship with Carter....IMO just like Matt, he now has his reason to look elsewhere.

I can't figure out how Florida or FSU are pulling any recruits. Florida has a head case for a coach and FSU is going on probation. Enjoy kids, enjoy.

There is still a little work to do but I would be surprised if the Gators don't land at least three more five star prospects before all is said and done.

I am telling you guys, don't give up on Elam....not going to say more than that, but this one is not over.

I am hoping they name a linebacker coach in the next day or so. If they do, I can see Jordan Hicks meeting the guy and making his decision.

I still feel really good about Powell and he will announce at the Army game as he has wanted to do it on television all this time. I feel better about Floyd today than I did a few days ago, and I felt good about him then.

need another linebacker to go along with Hicks (if he indeed comes).

need at least two more receivers....hmmmmmm.

need another OL, but I have no clue who that one will be. I expect Tennessee to get shaken up here again on the recruiting trail and Chaz green will have even more to think about, but he seems dead set on going there anyway.

just got this one

Just as I can't explain the reason anyone would want to go to UT or FSU.

Save that my reasoning is based on winning, or lack thereof in this case.
