Just as it was appropriate to chastise UT fans for making too much of a win over Kansas in January, it is time now to chastise you for making too much of a loss to Vandy in early February.

You will easily make the tournament. And, maybe a dose of humility for this team is not such a bad thing right about now. It doesn't hurt for the Vols to learn every game is going to be a battle and that there are teams that are going to out-tough them and so they need sometimes to play smarter and to endure long stretches in a game where everything is going against them.

The problem is LG is that if they didn't see the importance of this game or the needing to bring it each game after this Vandy team already beat you on your home floor, then this loss is just moot point as well.

How can you "make too much" over a win against an undefeated, #1 ranked team in the country? Its a pretty big win.

Im not worried about the tourney...I wanted to win the SEC...Thats why it was a big loss.

The lose to Vandy was huge, looking at the games left on the schedule gives little hope to a good finish.

A few teams are in that situation, including Florida. 3 of our last 4 are you, Vandy, and Kentucky. I think UGA is the fourth. We could easily limp into the SEC tourney having gone 1-3 in the last week or so of the regular season.

Nothing to smile about.

We'll make the tournament, but we're rapidly playing our way into the 8/9 seed death zone.

Besides, being swept by Vanderbilt -- once on our own floor, and the other a complete asspounding on theirs -- deeply sucks in its own right, regardless of its impact on the season. Vanderbilt fans are loathsome.

12th in the country, 4th in the East...with a loss to a 10-11 Georgia team who lost to Wofford and UAB earlier this season. We will be fine as far as the tourney goes. With that being said, we will be lucky to make it out of 2nd round.

Thank you. I live in Nashville and just turned off all media today. The sports talk here will be unbearable. Vandy is not so big in E Tenn, but here in M Tenn it is a must win.

It is only going to get tougher from here on out. That being said, I agree with OP in that it might help us to have this humiliating loss against our Rival to instill some sort of sourness going forward. Chips on shoulders always help. If we could only get consistent in the half-court and hit free throws then we would have a better chance at going deeper. We have a good team, yes, but going deep in the tourney is not forseeable.

I guess if your a Vandy fan you must have to have something to be excited about. Irrelevant fan base

They said all week that they had a chip on their shoulder from the home loss to Vandy earlier in the month. Didn't look like it helped much last night.

Were you beaten up a lot in school? I'm guessing you were the "teacher you forgot to assign homework" guy...
