A little background -

Yes, I am jumping on the Trevor Bayne bandwagon. No, I don't care if you laugh at me for doing so. No, I'm still not going to devote Saturday and Sundays to sit on the couch to watch every race. I've not followed NASCAR closely in my life although I halfway followed it when I was in high school. I've never been to a race. All in all, I figure if a local kid could win Daytona and I could get overly excited about it while watching that I could at least follow the sport somewhat.

That said, here's what I know about NASCAR currently.

1. The tweaked the points (again).
2. Jimmie Johnson has won 5 in a row, is a legit great guy, but doesn't have the charisma to draw fans.
3. Jr. thinks he can win races again this year.

If I'm going to follow this somewhat I need more info and hope that the experts on here can help me out. And expect some questions as we go along.

Little E, is Nascar's favorite driver

You're right. 15 Sprint Cup wins the last 3 years is horrible, and at least one win every year since he's been a full time driver. Not to mention 4 out of the last 5 years he's finished in the top 10 in points.

Dale Jr. should be at RCR instead of being a TEST CAR for Jeffie and Jimmy.

Mark Martin should also wise-up.

I said he is talented and is a good driver, I don't like how he thinks beating up on rookies in Nationwide & Trucks is such a big accomplishment.

Tried getting into it... I can't stand anything aside from the road courses like Watkins-Glen, Infineon, et al.

Bigger on touring cars (which is now more like the original NASCAR than NASCAR is now), and WRC and F-1.

That's how I am mostly. But now that there is a guy from my hometown in it, I have reacquired interest in NASCAR. I use to follow it very closely as a kid and when Mark was in his better days.

I hear this a lot about Dale driving test equipment but did you ever think that maybe he just isn't as talented as Jeff and Jimmie? Like VOLNBAMA said, Dale was switched over to Jeff's team from last year. He has Jeff's old crew, old cars everything. The car Dale drove yesterday was Jeff's Talladega car.

Kyle is good but he had no business dropping the "who" line when asked about Brad Keselowski. If that's the case, based on Kyle's stats, there are quiet a few drivers that could say "who" when asked about Kyle Busch.

I like Kyle because he plays the 'necks like a fiddle, and gets a genuine kick out of their predictable reactions.

I've got free tickets to Brickyard any time I want to go. But I've been told to go somewhere else first.

Can't do the Bristol spring race but wouldn't mind going up for the fall one.

If you go to ANY race, you have to go to Bristol. The whole experience it one to live at least once.
