Interesting read... The article mentions his brother Al whom I had never heard of before. Any idea what became of him? They say he was as good if not better than Bernard?

If we could only find another Bernard King...

and Ernie Grunfield. The Ernie and Bernie show for you that never got to witness it, was very very special. The supporting cast wasnt too bad either. I still remember going to the temple game and they were afraid to run with UT and it was before the shot clock. Final score UT won 11-7. I was sitting right behind the temple team and their players were shooting us birds, and mouthing off. We of course were perfect gentlemen and didnt say anything:whistling:
Actually I was only about 11 years old, so I wasnt a perfect gentleman.

GO VOLS !!!!

MR OBAMA I wish you no harm, I just wish you gone!!!

Little brothers are always going to be better than big brothers. Albert was very good; went to Maryland, was drafted and maybe had a cup of coffee in the league, but he was nothing like BK.

Bernard King was the best player I've ever seen with my own eyes. Larry Bird called him the best offensive player he ever played against. You can still pick up his 50 and 60 point games showing on NBA TV.

He was a once in a lifetime guy at a school like Tennessee.

He went by Albert, and had a pretty decent career in his own right. Played college ball for Maryland alongside Buck Williams. Solid NBA career, but didn't live up to the legend.

Bernard King was the best player to ever put on a orange jersey, plain and simple! And one of the best to ever play the game of basketball. True legend.

I agree, the best to ever wear the orange & it's not even close....one of the top 2 or 3 players ever to play in the SEC & a great NBA player as well.....UT will never see another one like him!
