It was the NIT. Losing to Ole Miss in the SECT hurt a ton more than that one. And the great part is it wasn't even our worse loss of the season.

Glad to put this season behind us and move on to next year.

MTSU is a good team.

**** happens.

Don't let a tough loss tamper your excitement for next year.

Just curious, what does the OOC schedule look like next year? I could look it up but figured I would just ask.

Agree :D. We have a ton to build on from this year. We could be scary good next year and sweet 16 should be there. Martin is going to do very well in recruiting and I just hope the guys put in serious work this offseason to get better.

I'm guessing Memphis in Knoxville, Wake Forrest, Oakland, and I thought we had another ACC team. Not sure about the rest. Really hope for a strong preseason tournament field and would love a good competition in the BE/SEC challange.

Usually shown in mid to lane summer. only Guarantees will be a Big east SEC matchup. More than likely because our rotation with Pitt is complete and since we finished in a tie for 2nd in SEC play don't be surprised if we don't draw like Louisville or Cincinnati. (I suppose I am just trying to say they ususally like to matchup similar conference rankings). I believe Cuonzo has setup a home and away with Virginia. Not sure who goes where first.

Yes MTSU is good for a sun belt team. But there is No excuse for not scoring on your home floor the last 7 minutes of the game! Team gave up those last few minutes and played uninspired. That can't be disputed.

That other ACC team you're talking about is probably Virginia.

It was good to see us pick up steam at the end of the season but dissapointing to see them completely fold up down the stretch of last nights game. MTSU deserves credit but our guys looked disinterested toward the end of the game.

I'm looking forward to next year very much.

But, I thought Pastner was ending the Memphis series with us?

The contract expires next year. They have to make one final trip to Knoxville!

Thanks for the reply. I had to edit my previous comment bc I replied to and quoted the wrong person. :) But thanks for the info.

Sure would be great to send the Tiggers packing one final time out of K-town!

Thank You. Atleast you get it. It's not acceptable to lose to MTSU, PERIOD! Make all the frigin excuses you want but the truth is we didn't wanna be here. We played like total losers the last 7 min. No intensity. No passion. If I'm a player and a guy scores on me every play that's going to piss me off. That in itself should make you wanna kick some butt. No heart.

No heart? Really? Maymon was playing hurt, Golden was too at the end. It may have been a bad last 7 minutes, but it doesn't mean they have no heart.

I still think losing to MTSU is a bad loss, no matter when it is or what the setting.

I don't want to take the time to look it up, but I wonder when the last time Tennessee lost to 4 different teams (Memphis, Vandy, MTSU, & Austin Peay) in the state of Tennessee? At least we beat ETSU & Chatt, but going 3-5 against instate opponents is pretty pisspoor.

Looking forward to a more experienced team next year. GBO

You obviously don't watch much basketball. MTSU is a good team. You think Duke feels good losing to Le-Freakin-High? They have much more hoops tradition than we could ever dream of and lost in the NCAA's to a 15 seed.

It's not a bad loss. Disappointing? Yes, because we had a chance to win and should've really but didn't seal the deal.

This team was lucky to win 19 games with the roster it had. People can say what they want, but when you don't have a true PG and really only one true ball handler then it's a damn small miracle that this team even won 19 games. Games in tourney ball are decided by guards. We only had 1 guard that could handle the ball. MTSU had many. That was the difference.

This year was an exception, not the rule, losing to Austin Peay and MTSU. It'll be a long time before that happens again. They happened to catch a UT team with a complete roster makeover and a coaching change. The stars rarely will line up for them again to have another chance like that.

Well when you get an eight point lead and then start throwing up bad looking three,s with 20 seconds left on shot clock, when your already ofer from three point range.my dad called when the vols where up by a couple and he was watching it even though he is a life long cats fan after tatum and mcbrick threw the ball toward the rim and missed he said they need to stop shooting three and they will win ,but if they keep shooting three,s they would lose.so we all know what how it went..I do not understand why everyone thinks mcbee is such a great shooter he got lucky against kansas and his stats this year one game he might hit three or four and then the next three or four games he hits nothing. The vols need at least one consistently good shooter.

I agree the shot selection was bad and losing to MTSU should never happen but who cares? It was the NIT. I'm glad to take my boy to an extra game and it's good the team got an extra practice but let teams like MTSU pimp NIT banners, not Tennessee.
