CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend. The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."
Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."
The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."
Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."
"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."
When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

why the conservative punditry has fallen in love with Santorum is mystifying

I suppose it's because of his social conservatism and his willingness to bomb the shiite out of Iran at the drop of a yarmulka.

He's not in any way an economic conservative, a fact which seems to have gotten lost since Pastor Rick began winning primaries and promising pray the gay away re-education camps.

Even Mike Huckabee kept the social conservative rhetoric at a low level.

Pretty telling of the Republican Party at the moment. Eerily similar to the Democratic Party of 2004.

Santorum wants to outlaw internet porn.

I won't be voting for Santorum.

Colbert made and interesting point in response to the whole Limbaugh-Fluke debacle... he said that Rush is more of a prostitute than Fluke could ever be due to the fact that he'll do anything with his mouth for money.
