It's not up on the Lady Vols website yet, but it is being reported on The Summitt and ESPN forum that Andraya Carter is going to have surgery on her shoulder tomorrow and that she will be out for the season. She hasn't appeared in too many games, so a red-shirt is apparently in the offing.

I really hate that for her and for the team. She is an excellent and tenacious on-ball defender, something we need. Fortunately, unlike in previous years, we have a point guard in Ariel Massengale, so the team won't be left with point guard by committee,

I do think Kamiko Williams importance to the team just took a decided boost.

This is not good for this team. Carter is very good and we have a tough stretch coming up. I really enjoy watching her play. Hope the surgery fixes this problem for good.

Best of luck to her hope she gets well soon. I guess this moves Kamiko to backing up at point guard this season.

Really hate to lose her. She is a great addition to our team, but I understand the need to get her shoulder taken care of so she and the team does not have to go game at a time not knowing if she will be there.

Hope everything goes really well and she is ready to go hard next year.

Meanwhile, Simmons and Williams can both do a great job in her position. Both have stepped up their game tremendously this year. I think Elzy has added so much to our team, and our defense is improving by leaps and bounds.

Go Lady Vols!
