Does anyone know IF Andraya Carter qualified for a redshirt this year and IF SO, does she plan to use it?

I thought it was mentioned at the time they decided on surgery, that she would indeed redshirt this year. I could be wrong, and simply dreampt it up, but I'm pretty certain she did redshirt for the season.

UT will apply for a medical hardship for Carter, who first suffered an injury to the shoulder during her senior season at Buford (Ga.) High School. Warlick said that Carter is under the limit in terms of games played this season.

If memory serves me correctly, I think all red-shirt approvals come from the NCAA after the season. In a case like Andraya's the approval is essentially a rubber stamp, but, as in so many things with the NCAA, the wait for the "official" word is the bottom line.

Regardless if she gets a red shirt or not, she'll be back. And with what the Lady Vols have coming back, plus what they have coming in (Mercedes H), they should be preseason top 5 with a great chance to win it all. Heck they may even win it all this year.

She got a red shirt year and will be a freshman next season. That makes the class Russell, Carter, Tucker, and Reynolds.
