I know this is cool story bro and all, but still wanted to share.
My wife coaches middle school girl's basketball for a private school in Knoxville. A few weeks ago, the team went to a Lady Vols game. After the Lady Vols game Andraya Carter came out to sign autographs and took some pictures with the team. She started talking to my wife and one of the other coaches about the league they play in among other things and Andraya asked for a schedule.
So tonight was the last home basketball game for the team and today Andraya emailed the team and said she wanted to come speak to the team and come to the game. Of course the team was more than happy to have her. She warmed up with them and spoke to them before and after the game and at halftime. She brought another one of her teammates with her as well. The other girl was probably 6'2" or 6'3" but I do not know their roster all that well.
Anyway just wanted to share, about how Andraya took it upon herself to be involved in the community and reach out to the youth and let them have an experience; they will not soon forget.
