The kid is the best quarterback entering into the draft since Peyton Manning. If I'm an NFL team whose season is completely lost, I'm losing games to draft him. He's going to be phenomenal.

What schools offered him out of high school in Dallas, you might ask? Well, Stanford, Northwestern, Purdue, Rice, Virginia, and Oklahoma State round out the list.

Nice whiff, Mack Brown. I bet you'd like to have Luck and LaMichael in your offense right about now, eh?

There is talk he'll stay for his junior season if Jim stays at Stanford, I would sell the farm for Luck if I were the Titans.

Luck would be so stupid to stay for another year. He's basically got the #1 pick locked up.

Smart guy. Looks goofy though.

Edit: Also, in my opinion, he isn't the best QB prospect since Manning to enter the draft. Bradford and Vick were both equally, if not more so impressive.

i love luck.. he is awesome.. but i'd take ryan mallett over him for an nfl team... he has an incredible cannon of an arm and is hard to sack, like rothliesberger... it often buys him an extra second to pass with a dl hanging on him... would think the 49'ers are drooling over both of them

I think it's pretty much a sure thing that the Panthers are going to finish with the worst record and snatch up Luck. He's just as mobile and tough to bring down as Mallett, IMO.

You're assuming there's a draft and NFL season next year.

If he makes hits like that in the NFL, he's going to get to know Goodell pretty well.

As a Panthers fan, I've been obsessing over this guy since I realized that Jimmy Clausen is garbage.
I love the team, but I sure hope they don't screw themselves by beating Arizona this weekend. The Bengals would jump them in the draft order if they had the same record.

Well, yeah, this is all contingent on the lack of a lockout, which is a very good possibility.

I don't know what you're talking about with "getting to know Goodell." He didn't do anything helmet-to-helmet or dirty.

There will definitely be a draft. The CBA issues will have an impact afterwards.
They might not be able to report to camp until August, but there will definitely be a draft.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I'm not a big follower of the NFL.

If the Panthers will have the first pick, I think they should trade down and address other needs. I think it's way to early to give up on Clausen and their line is awful.

Clausen sucks. You don't pass up someone like Luck if you have the opportunity to get him.

You've clearly not watched Clausen play. He is just awful. He also has so little chemistry with the team that they're speaking out against him in the media now. I truly thought Steve Smith was going to beat him up yesterday.

Clausen is a rookie behind a terrible line. Not all rookies come in and immediately have success. I just think that Clausen will turn out to be pretty good and that the panthers have more glaring needs than qb. If this were year 3 of the Clausen era then i can see drafting another qb with your first round pick.

I've watched him play. I've seen some plays that would make you think he'll be fine and others that are head scratchers. I just think it's WAY too early to give up on him.

How would the Panthers' brass be feeling if Clausen turned into a flameout or a mediocre starter with Luck being a perennial Pro Bowler?

If this was Alex Smith or something, yeah, I wouldn't be very interested in abandoning Clausen for him. I'm telling you though, Luck is the most impressive QB draft prospect since Peyton.

Well how would they feel if they took Luck and he is either a flop or has a career full of injuries? I agree that he is the best pro prospect in this draft though.
