Dont look into it to much. it has not been a week since the National Championship. I think we will be ranked when the first real pre season poll is announced

Katz is a freaking idiot. First he talks about how we are bringing in a great class this year and then says it is going to be hard to replace Wayne, JP, and Bobby, (which it is). Then go down the list to KY, where they will probably lose about 3-5 players from this season. He has them ranked 15th because he THINKS they will have a great class coming in, which they do not have right now. Guess our top 5 class doesn't mean anything to him. WHAT A FREAKING JOKE.

I do not mind being left out because UT has proved they are better when it is us against the world mentality. UT will be there when it counts.

It just goes to prove that no articles on ESPN will ever support us. Give it time and they will hopefully realize that we are a respectable program and will be a respectable program in the future. I expect big things in the years to come.

I think with as much talent lost as we will have next year, coupled with the system Pearl runs...we are right where we belong. We are losing every leader and that can't be underestimated.

I would rather be pleasantly surprised next year as opposed to expecting the world out of freshmen and this years role players? Being realistic that's JMO

These polls obviously have very little indication of what's going to happen next year, but it's interesting to see what analysts' outlooks are.

There comes a point in time when teams who have "talent", based on rankings or what not, and don't win are labeled as underachieving not ready to breakout. Purdue is a prime example. This team has been ranked in the top 5 the last two years, and this will make number 3, and they've managed a 5 seed and a 4 seed. I believe the Purdue making the Final 4 ship has sailed ESPN.

Right now I'd say we clock in at around #20 due to losing both Chism and Prince, so this isn't egregiously wrong or anything.

Fred's Dollar Store has us in the top 20. That should make yall feel better? It would mean the same. Unlike football, polls mean nothing----save hype.

There are only two polls that matter....the one the selection committee makes up when they do their tourney seeding, and from this year's seeds the AP & Coaches polls have little to no bearing on this, and the poll at the very end of the year. Thats it!

At this point, I agree with Katz. Right now, I only expect 35 pts from Brian, Scotty and Cameron.

The reason they received a four seed this year was because they lost Hummel. Their resume was a 2 seed, and a 3 seed at worst.

We will be a top 25 team next year. We will probably be more athletic overall and should be able to shoot the ball better with our incoming recruits. We will miss Chism and JP.

Well it really depends on how good tobias harris is. I dont underestimate the impact of losing chism but if harris is really a big time imediate impact freshman he should be better than chism next year. If trae golden can shoot the ball it gives us a legit shooter which we didnt have the last 2 years. And then there is mcrae who im not sure wont step on the court and be better than J.P prince was in the regular season either. Leadership will be big but im liking next years team if we can just have some new leaders step up

I dont expect those to be our 3 best players. If tobias harris really is the 5th best freshman in America like he is rated as he will be the best player on the team the day he steps on the floor. Dont write him off as a scotty hopson overrated type.
