Feels like were recurting a ton of guards and not many bigs which we desperatly need.

This guy seems to be a decent prospect. You can't tell a lot off of the dunk video other than the dude can obviously leap, but Michigan State apparently is recruiting him.

He needs to know you can't wear #69. Don't want him to find that out too late and want released for his LOI. You know these players are so touchy these days.

I think this will be especially key if Cuonzo lies to the NCAA and gets fired for it. If that happens after he's gotten some signatures, we're going to have some more LOI headaches again.

Hope so since we obviously have scholarships/slots available...maybe coach should give him a hug so they feel wanted...

There are always more guards than bigs available, for the same reason you know more people in real life that are 6-5 than 6-10.

This late in the year, there just aren't a lot of posts available, and EVERYONE is fighting for them.

Guy Landry 2009 Basketball Recruiting Profile - ESPN

February, 2009: Landry has very good strength and a chiseled body, both of which he needs to learn to use to his advantage on both ends of the court. On defense, he has good lateral quickness and when combined with his strength, Landry should dominate on the perimeter defensively. However he does not give maximum effort defensively throughout the games, instead he does it on select defensive possessions. On offense, Landry has a good first step and can get into the lane, but once he gets to the rim, he has a tendency to negate his strength advantage by throwing up difficult shots in an attempt to avoid contact instead of using his developed body to initiate contact. Landry can hit jumpers with range that extends out to the 3-point line, but he does not rank as a great shooter at this point. He also can hit the mid-range pull-up jumper, but he needs to utilize this tool more. Landry has decent vision and can locate open teammates, but he does not do it enough, instead electing to shoot too many difficult, contested shots. Landry also has to alleviate his tendency to over-dribble and become more efficient and comfortable dribbling the ball.

Well I think you need to be a good shooter before you look at size. We've had big guys and still not much of a difference. No one could shoot this year

2011 JUCO Guy Landry Rivals Profile

Visiting the 22nd.

Per Landry:
"I'm a good defender, I play hard, I'm a winner, I hate to lose, I think I can work on my handles, my jump shot. There's always something to improve. I'm ready to do anything to win on the court. I can rebound the ball pretty well, can pass the ball. Anything a coach needs me to do out there, I'll do it."

Need is growing if we are going with a 4 guard line up. We won't have anyone to board.

we just got humiliated in the ncaa with the players we have now..im all for a group with discipline and chemistry right now

Don't put it all on the kids. There were other factors at work that day.

Landry averaged 9.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last year, shooting 45% from the field (40% on 3-pt. attempts, 48% on 2-pointers) and 61% from the FT line. He also averaged 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.8 turnovers per game.

IMO, this is the kind of prospect you'd typically find at a Sun Belt or Southern Conference school, even though he originally committed to Southern Cal (he failed to qualify.)
