Another Capel is a head coach

With only 10 months as a college assistant coach, Jason Capel has been named the new coach at Appalachian State. Capel was hired in June by Buzz Peterson as an assistant. He was chosen over fellow assistant Matt McMahon, who has spent 10 years as an assistant at the school and also played there. Looks like daddy made a phone call.

They hired Buzz Peterson TWICE! hmy:

At least we only made the mistake once. Appy rehired him and then their AD threw a fit when he left after one year of his reprise.

Roy at UNC-CH, Buzz at UNC-W, Lebo at ECU, Scott Cherry at High Point and now Jason Capel at App St. Looks like the only requirement to coach in the UNC school system is shooting pre-game layups in a UNC uniform at one point in your life.
