Risean Broussard, a defensive tackle from LaGrange (Lake Charles, La.), who had accepted a Class of 2010 offer from Tennessee, will instead attend prep school or junior college to bolster his academics.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound prospect picked the Vols over LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas, among many others. :banghead2: :realmad: :furious3:  :censored: :the_finger: :machgun::Bbiteme::ripped::no1:

He wasn't going to get in anyways. We may end up getting someone even more talented to fill his spot, but even if we don't, whoever does fill that spot will almost certainly be smarter...so, that's one good thing.

This has been stated many times in the past so our hopes should have been minimal on this guy.

You know, this is just friendly advice, but if you are going to start a thread about a decommit: a) state the recruit's name in the title and b) don't sound the alarms for a 3* DT. We will be fine, no worries :eek:k:

If you cannot matriculate into a university is it considered a decommitment?

Everyone needs to quit tripping so hard! These decommits are not decommiting because they changed their minds or the staff is doing a bad job, they havent made the grades. Yea it sux but not much you can do about it. And like SamRebel35 said, with all these spots coming open, the staff will do all they can to fill those spots with even better players!! The sky is not falling, I repeat, the sky is not falling!! Do you copy?? Over!!!

Nope, he may still be committed to UT in a few years when he's done with junior college. He just couldn't get in this year.

how is attending a prep/Juco decommitting? Sounds like he couldn't have gotten in anyway

Please change your title, and try "Another Decommit, Josh Nunes apparently will attend Stanford instead"

This actually good news for us. It was discussed several weeks ago about him committing to LA Tech because he didn't have the grades to get in to UT. Looks like Coach O convinced him to go JUCO so he could be re-recruited once he qualifies. I read recently that O paid him an in home visit. He will be in Orange, just not next year.

When did Cobbs decommit? I don't remember seeing any threads about his choosing Texas. I check Volnation everyday and I would have thought that I would have seen a thread.

He checked out a long time ago. I'm surprised you missed it. I'm sure the sky was falling on that day too.

we have known since the day Broussard committed that academics were an issue and he likely would not make it in...

this is really not a big deal at all.

I actually do vaguely remember seeing something about it because of burnt orange comments people were making. I must have just forgotten that he decommitted because I don't really look at it as that big of a deal.
