Though Georgia coaches want to play lightning fast Branden Smith on both sides of the ball, he can’t be in the game at the same time as tailback Isiah Crowell because they both wear No. 1 jerseys. “They can’t be on the field at the same time,” offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said. “That’s the only answer I’ve got, and there ain’t no solving it.”

:eek:lol:

Wow. Just....holy cow!! Am I mistaken in saying that it is actually legal for two players on the same side with the same number to be on the field together?
If it's such an issue, why can't you just change one of the player's numbers?
Good grief!!

lolololololololol. Problem-solving is obviously not one of their strengths.

^^ Refuse??? When does a player get to refuse and stay on the team? No wounder CMR has problems.

It was a joke, both players have said they are willing to switch numbers if needed. I would not read anything into that quote specifically and I actually had not read it. The AJC writers would have a field day with that quote. If the staff wants Branden on offense, it can easily be done.

Yep. They both REFUSE to give up the number!!!!

Example #2 apparently that it is a sinking ship. Sounds like some team players. CMR should just give the # to the guy who has seniority.

Edit:
Sorry didn't see your second post.

That you even have to explain says everything!

3HL reported rumors that Aaron Murray has broken ribs and may not play this wkend. Further said Richt did not allow outsiders into practice. TIFWIW.

Spencer Hall put it way better than I'll ever be able to: Georgia is a five-star team with two-star coaching.

I've heard that from a few folks on here but the guys I talk to on a regular basis haven't even brought this up. If this is true then the staff is doing a real good job keeping it out of the public.

I have heard that CMR is a man on a mission this week though, maybe that's why the outsiders have been kept out of practice.

This happens every year at UGA. Richt starts his hardcore practices when his butts on the line. Why doesnt he get more serious from the get go. Reminds me of Fulmer

If Murray is really hurt, even if he does play it'll be another hill for Richt to climb. Looking like a MTN.

Give him 1/2 as his number. That would be less stupid then the reason you can't get him on the field.

That's an even worse excuse than Fulmer "forgetting" about Montario Hardesty.
