Was watching recruit HS footage.....Todd Kelley Jr reminds me so much of Jamal Lewis that I think, with Hurd, we could have two of the best RB's around playing together.
Not to mention, we are thin at RB....We are weak offensively....so, what do the rest of us coaches think about TK2 to running back??

No. With Hurd and (hopefully)Scott, we will have some studs at RB. I would rather have TK knocking people out on D.

btw, not trying to police the thread, but this exact thing was just discussed like 2 weeks ago. I will sum it up: Its not a great idea.

I would be all for it, but we are so thin on defence and we need some head hunters on the D, and he can jar some heads.

Safety.....it will be the best chance position wise for him to hopefully make the league in the future.

No, TKjr is a safety and after we possibly land Scott there will be no need to switch guys into new positions unless we just hurt for depth. Our secondary desperately needs help in athleticism, speed and playmakers. You could see that when teams butchered us to death with bubble screens. Walk-ons in nickel and dime packages equal touchdowns---hopefully TKjr can just come in and start at safety. We'll have plenty of options at RB.

He'll be carrying the pigskin... soon. Smooth, natural runner, can't teach that, nor waste it.

Could be safety/kick returner ... unless others step up offering more promise at the latter. As with the QB position, coaches will sort all that out better than us armchair geniuses.

The way opposite teams ran on us, a run stop - close the gap kind of safety would be ideal. Lane + Hurd + scott (hopefully) would be good at RB with Paulk getting better by next year.

I dare say it. I think too many people are selling our current crop of RBs short.
Lane will be a back who can not only run between the tackles, but boogie, juke, and gallop in open space. Let's forget Hurd for a moment (heresy, I know). Hill and Summerhill haven't yet had enough time to strut their stuff. We saw glimpses last season, just glimpses. They both run hard and make positive yards. Though I know little about him, Pickett before having to sit out had a smattering of positive comments by coaches. I got the feeling he just might be as slippery as Pig in open space and possibly a slasher at the line, making people miss. We're not as bad off as is being made out.

Okay for the last time....Hurd is playing cornerback/2nd string RT and Kelly Jr is kicker/punter and 2nd string LT....stop with all the switching people around.
