No way should a program like Memphis get a home and home like this. I know this was done as a solid for Alex but still....

We've done it w Chattanooga haven't we? I wouldn't mind playing MTSU if all the Hayes' are gone from the area. It's something Pat used to do - play at small venues to help that program.

Yeah, I know it's something we used to do to build up the sport but it's just not something that really happens much in 2023.

It's not like Memphis has really operated in good faith over the years in other sports....

We have 3 players from West Tennessee on our current roster and one of the best players in 2027 (Haylen Ayers) is from Jackson. This is great for recruiting and for the fans in West Tennessee.

Right, gotta look at the bigger picture. First and foremost Coach Summitt ALWAYS helped build programs or put butts in seats especially if it was to help a former player. While that team wasn't an NCAA team last year they had a pretty darn good record at 22-11 . So this isn't a 5-20 team we scheduled. This also gets the LVs into the area and be seen... I think Alex understands what the draw of having UT in Memphis would be. Growing the game is what it is about.

I wouldn't think this is a problem at all but I see some people are not excited about it. All it does is give us an opponent that we know for the next two years ...

Right you are. Memphis is the capital of West Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas, and North Mississippi. HS players from those regions will come to see the Lady Vols in droves.
