Last night's game was a real crusher. I actually thought - despite playing really poorly - that we were going to pull this one out.

A look at the box score is a killer reality check.

We shot less than 42% overall, our three pt shooting actually helped at 50%. But we lost to a team that shot 36%. We had 21 TO's to their 10. That's 11 extra chances.

DD lead all players AGAIN with 8 TO's, totally negating her 13 pts.

The Cats aren't the cream of the crop. This was a really bad loss.

I used to watch every LV game I could and attended several games as well with my family. Until they fire HW and find a real coach, I will not watch or attend again. They will pull out some wins in spite of Holly because of talent alone, but even that is about to come to a crashing end. Welcome to LA Tech, because the spotlight at the front of THAT oncoming train is painfully bright.

I think were going to finish the season with about 13 losses so we will see what happens in the off season. I think you at least have to get some different Assistant coaches because not only is play on the court bad so is recruiting.

Maybe it is more like him that is needed to stop the train wreck. Even you being a loyal Holly follower has to see she can't coach at this level. The lower we go the harder to come back. No recruits for next year, I guess the girls can see the writing on the wall as well.

your loss, these girls deserve our loyalty. How will that help with recruiting?

DD needs to ride the pines until she stops turning it over. Must be some promise of playing time for coming to UT otherwise why play her?

Recruiting? What recruiting?? :lolabove:

The point is, it is the coach and hapless administration that has put them in this position, not us, and the only way we as fans can help get them out is to vote with our feet and our pocketbooks, period. Continue to fill the stands and expect more of the same.

In the long run, this is by far what's best for the players.

When was the last time the Lady VOLS wasn't ranked in the top 25, anybody know?

561 weeks ago... so about 11 years. We dropped to #23 and MSU is next up, so cherish the waning days of a streak that shouldn't even be at risk.

The reality is we are not very good....And are not going to get better.
Poor basic basketball fundamentals and poor coaching.

561 weeks only counts weeks that BB rankings were given. Which means the LV's haven't been out of the Top 25 since Feb in 1985.

Any program in any sport that has a tradition like ours must have a top coach, and excellent staff. We don't, sadly. Hart opted to defer to PS's wishes on who should succeed her, and unfortunately PS got it wrong. We've done the loyalty thing for four years; now it time--long past time--to get a new staff worthy of this program.

Guys - why the doom and gloom? Let's be honest - teams HAVE to be in the top 25 by default because, well, they need 25 teams to rank. Clearly there are some obvious quality teams out there - UCONN, ND, Baylor, SC, Maryland, OSU, and maybe a few others.

But all those teams have had relatively close games. UCONN struggled with Maryland and only beat ND by about 10. ND lost to UCONN and we played them hard. SC has not looked good offensively (no one in the SEC has), etc etc.

Kentucky may not be a "great" team, but they deserve to be in the top 10 based on their performances so far this season. Our win over Oregon State was terrific. We are not that far off...

The problem for us, though, in not being far off, is that we aren't that close either. Thing is, though, we had chances to win that game. It would not surprise me if we beat Texas AM and Mississippi State. We could have a nice 5 game winning streak heading into the game vs. SC.

We were asked by the coaches to be patient and not give up on the season, or the team. Remember we bring back Cooper, Nared, Deshields and Russell next year. That's a sick starting quartet and add in anyone else, we are a good team.

Point is we aren't that far away from other top 10 teams in spite of our craptastic season. Mark my words - things are looking up...

I remember in 08-09 Pat told the entire SEC beat us now when you can because next year you won't stand a chance.. That was sooooo true she slaughtered the SEC in 2010 and 2011 with those same freshman... So is this Holly's down year idk.. But does she have what it takes to turn the team around my biggest concern is that we are not fundamentally sound this team can't execute and they are very inconsistent... I love the LV's and I hate to see them lose ESPECIALLY GAMES THAT THEY SHOULD'VE WON BY A LANDSLIDE MARGIN

If you want to talk about a program with collapsing expectations, look no further. Glad to a see a 13 point whipping is now evidence of playing hard.

Ah the ol' wait until next year play. Of course, many of you said that last year - "JUST WAIT UNTIL WE GET DIAMOND ON THE COURT!"
