Another reason to start Dobbs...

Man all I know is...I'm going to cover my eyes if Peterman comes out. He may be vastly improved, confident, etc. But that Florida first half was the ugliest football I've seen in all my years of existence and it's all I have to go on with that kid.

I hear he once had a job as a janitor at MIT and walked around solving complex math problems on the hallway chalkboards until some guys with a Fields Medal caught him and bailed him outta jail with the condition that he would help him out with more math and see a counselor from Southy. TIFWIW.

I heard he was in love with some British chick but she was getting way to close so he broke it off. I hope he gets over that crap soon and wins the damn game for us.:banghead2:

I like Dobbs more just because of his dual threat ability, but when I heard how he is majoring in aerospace engineering and a 4.0 student, I've wanted to see him play. Talent like his with that sort of intellect can be deadly.

No way Jones ever plays Peterman over Worley or Dobbs.

Don't quote me on this but I believe he was on the US Calculus Team that competed nationally and he was a D1 baseball player as well

I'm recording the replay of the Bama game on Fox Sports South. I heard that Dobbs looked pretty good when he got to play so I want to check it out.

I hear Rod Wilkes visited him and knighted him to continue the legend. Rod also stated he was only half the man of Dobbs and would be honored if he would accept legendary status.

“I think he has a photographic memory,” Jones said of Dobbs. “He is extremely bright, he is competitive, so we don't have to scale down the playbook one bit with him.”

Quarterback questions return for Tennessee with No. 10 Missouri looming | Nooga.com

:good!:

we knew he was smart. whats the other reason? i hate how prematurely confident everyone gets about the QB they are backing even though neither have had a chance to do anything. last time we listened to the fan base, UT fired Fulmer. im going to pull for whoever is behind center and let you all keep fantasizing and drooling at your superstar QBs

Lets just wait and see what is going on with Worleys thumb. He hasn't had a real good season but he gave us a win against a ranked sec team something no other Tn qb has done since 09. If Worley starts I'm backing him 110% he has gave his all for our program and I'm glad he is a Volunteer. I really hope he comes out and has a real good gm so he can shut up all the Negavols.

Only a few things I worry about in starting Dobbs starting:

1. I'm glad he got some playing time with the #1s saturday but performing well in the second half of a game in which we're getting blown out of doesn't tell me much. Missouri has a pretty decent defense I hope Dobbs can make the correct reads and not let their pass rush force him into ill-advised throws. We need him to play smart, turnovers will kill us.

2. I'm a little worried about timing and rhythm. Dobbs may be an awesome talent but can take little while for WRs and QBs to get on the same page. Hopefully a week as "the guy" will give him enough reps.

This is a really great opportunity for Dobbs and I hope he comes through for us!

The point is he's a quick learner, can think on his feet. Change up your plays and he's most likely not going to forget it. He can improvise on the fly which is what you need to be a great QB. His first college experience was against the number 1 team in the nation. Not only did he not throw a single pick but he moved the ball and actually scored. Something we couldn't do with our first string QB.

One could hardly ask for a more challenging scenario than for an untested true freshman quarterback to see his first action on the road against the nation's no. 1-ranked team. On drives orchestrated by Dobbs, we generated 172 yards of offense and ten points on 30 plays (Tennessee Volunteers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide - Drivechart - October 26, 2013 - ESPN), despite the fact that Alabama is currently ranked 5th in total defense (Total Defense - NCAA.com) and 1st in scoring defense (Scoring Defense - NCAA.com), at 280.9 yards and 9.8 points per game.

Yeah, I was playing along. God help you if you don't understand sarcasm. It was funny to me, and I enjoy making myself laugh.
