why wouldn't we care? Are you calling for gov't regulation of where the oil goes and who they can sell it to or do you really not think the US companies would do the exact same thing to protect their margins?

All the US would become is another exporter of oil in the world. It would help to increase the supply a bit but it's not the final solution.

no, what i'm saying is that if we drilled our own oil, then we wouldn't have to worry about countries lowering output, we would have prices go up because some 3rd world country.

Drilling for offshore oil is so marginal in the world oil output/consumption game that it's pointless.

For the last time, don't worry about oil. We are wrapping all that up in Iraq right now.
