I suppose all the different sports outlets come up with their own lists, and collegeinsider.com gives Pearl and Lofton props in the SEC (as well as Glen Davis).

I'll try to put a link on here, if I can figure out how.

SOUTHEASTERN
Player of the Year: Glen Davis (LSU)
Most Valuable Player: Chris Lofton (Tennessee)
Coach of the Year: Bruce Pearl (Tennessee)
Not sure how the Most Valuable Player isn't the Player of the Year, or vice versa? :dunno:

well, you can be the best player in the league and have a lot of talent on your team, or be one of the best and not have quite the same talent. in the case of the latter you would be deemed more valuable to your team

Yep. They are slightly different concepts...

I remember this off the blog OWB posted in another thread on this subject... Some guy saying something to the tune of "The SEC coaches not voting Bruce Pearl as SEC Coach of the Year just proves that everybody else in the country knows most SEC coaches have a few screws loose."
