Evidently, they have already have a scapegoat plan of action, but he lied about only not sending emails to protect privacy or whatever he said. There are more emails from him that conflict his statement. He's toast.

I can't see any scapegoat saving Tressel. We already know that he knew about it. That should be it for him right there.

I don't think it will either, but character has been mentioned a lot this past year and his purported blaming of this particular lady shows a lack of it.
