Why would he when there's baseball talent galore in our state?

My friend and I follow local guys fairly closely and he has always maintained that even if UT just recruited from Knoxville to the Tri-Cities that we would still be a competitive team. Maybe a bit of a stretch but his overall point is that there is really really good talent withing 3 hours of Knoxville on all sides.

I am not necessarily a UT fan (just a baseball fan), so I can evaluate these UT recruits without any biases. There is a ton of talent around the area in the classes of 2012 and 2013. They may not be top ten type players, but the depth of the talent is really amazing for this area. These guys have grown up playing in the top tournaments in America and have proven they can compete with anyone.

Heath Loyd will be a very nice addition to the UT team as well. He is a great fielder. He runs well, and gets outstanding jumps on the ball. He is a solid hitter as well. He has a short quick swing and is never overmatched at the plate. In my opinion, his greatest attribute is his baseball IQ/instincts , and it shows up in virtually every game I’ve watched him play. He is a clutch performer. He will only get better once he gets into a college weight program and gains some strength.

I wonder if Heath will help recruit his 2013 teammate at Science Hill who just played in the Area Code Games? He is mentioned in this article.

I found this and thought some of you would be interested. Science Hill had two players sign National Letters of Intent to SEC schools. There is still a ton of talent at that school after Norris graduated. In fact, there are more potential major D1 prospects that haven’t signed yet still playing for Science Hill.

Man, Science Hill and Farragut could supply half your starting nine or more if you got everybody you wanted.
