How are we not ranked after this week??

We have the exact same record as Georgia (4-3) and we have lost 3 games to top 15 opponents..
(2 of which were #2 and #6).. Not only that, but we played Florida really close, and took Georgia to overtime and only lost because of us, not cause they beat us.. Whereas Georgia, lost to a good Clemson team (the equivalent of us losing to Oregon), lost to an underrated Missouri team (which might be the equivillant to us losing to Florida with Murphy at QB), and now lost to a Vandy team that was unranked and shouldnt have even been in the game.. So taking all that into consideration... Shouldn't we be ranked going into Alabama..?

Georgia won't be ranked after today. They don't deserve to be and neither do we..... yet.

Rankings are more a popularity poll than a real evaluation of what you've done - we shouldn't expect to be ranked until we demonstrate on the field that we're relevant again. That may happen by the end of the season, but maybe not. It takes time to overcome perception.

It doesn't matter how close your losses were or how highly ranked your opponents were, a team with three losses simply isn't going to be ranked only seven games into the season. Now, if we were to reel off four more wins in succession, sure, we would be ranked at 8-3.

Not even close to being ranked

So you are arguing a team with the same record as us, who beat us, should not be ranked but we should?

BCS rankings from here on out...not just a popularity contest anymore. I will be surprised if Georgia is still ranked. Tennessee has to beat another top 25er in order to be ranked IMO.

Regardless...today felt awesome! It feels like we are ranked!

You mentioned that we played Florida close and lost to UGA in overtime. Well, "Almost, Damn Near, but not Quiet" doesn't matter to the voters. I wish it did, but it doesn't.

Also, I prefer for us to take the underdog role, at this point. I am not sure how the players would react if we were in the top 25. Would they still remain focused or would they get the big head and not be focused?

3 of our wins were against cupcakes. Georgia has wins against USC(cocks not condoms), North Texas, LSU and the VOLS.

We also do not have the recent history of being a ranked team. The time is coming and it's coming sooner than most of us thought it would.
