How does everyone think the new duo will work?

Anthony & AI

Will it be another Shaq & Kobe ordeal?

I believe Denver just solidified their spot as the 4th best team in the West... and that's if AI and Anthony can even get along. Should be interesting, once Carmelo gets back from his extended Christmas vacation.

I was hoping the Bulls would have got him, but Gordon is pretty solid for the Bulls though.

The Shaq and Kobe ordeal resulted in what, 3 championships? I think the folks in Denver would be very happy with such an ordeal.

I do have doubts as to whether there will be enough balls to go around in Denver once both of them get on the court together. I heard an NBA analyst on FSR this morning talking about how Carmelo would be a good complement to AI once he returns, and I think that is the probelm--neither one of these guys are "complementary" players.

The offense in Philly was designed to go through AI; the offense in Denver was designed to go through Anthony. It is going to be a major adjustment for one or both of these guys not to be the sole focal point of the offense.

They will split the scoring title with each other.

Yeah of course the Nuggies would be happy with 3 titles, but I see this as Anthony getting a little upset?! Anthony has already shown an ego problem a few times in his short career, but you know in his eyes he is it in Nuggy land. AI could easily take that away from Anthony. You never know though this could be the close thing we will ever see to the Jordan Pippen era. Just throw a lot of thug into though.

The thug NBA is a whole different issue, but I lose interest more every year with the NBA becuase of it.

I may have opened a can of worms. :dance2:

The Answer willingly shared the ball when he played for Team USA. Why? Because he was playing with teammates with actual talent. Look at the illustrious crew he's played with in Philly. Who should he have ever passed to? Larry Hughes? Aaron McKie? Jerry Stackhouse? A 55% version of Chris Webber?

Team USA wasn't exactly what I would call a shining example of how to make the whole bigger than the sum of the parts.

I'm not knocking Iverson, or Carmello either, for that matter; I just don't know about how they will fit together. Thus far in both of their NBA careers, both players have been on teams whose sole purpose on offense was to get them the ball. That is going to change, at least for one of them.

Any way you look at it, someone, and maybe both of them, is going to have to adjust from being the offensive focal point, and even if that happens in a good way, I'm not sure that is the best use of either player's talent.
