Antonio Cromartie said the NFL should just make medical marijuana ok

For a guy that can't remember his kids names, he probably shouldn't smoke

I agree only in the vein, that I agree with the general decriminalization of marijuana.

Not because of anything football related. Especially in Cromarite's case.

That idiot would be exactly who he is now; football career or not.

People would just be high in games. A bad role model and they may even sell it to

So much WTF in one post I hardly know where to begin.

...where are they gonna smoke before the game?

They show up to the stadium hours before the game starts. Cameras and reporters everywhere ...It's not like you can smoke anywhere in public anymore.

With their lively hoods constantly on the line, You think the coaches will let someone on that field high?

and when I say "high" I mean on weed, because that's outside of being shot up on demerol and other assorted muscle relaxants during the game.

Would be one of the more safe and effective methods of dealing with the unique pain management issues that NFL players have to deal with.

Just an observation on my part, but why do you think they would be high during games? Are the ones that drink alcohol high during games. I don't think anyone will be advertising who smokes, so I don't get the role model thing. If it's legal, who would they sell it to? You just go to the local shop and buy it.

I wonder if OP has ever tried Marijuana? I've read about it in books, and I could understand why people would like it.

I'll always argue with many that for some athletes, it's almost performance enhancing. If one can use it to relax the mind before a tense game where others are puking from nervousness, it's an advantage.
Some of the best players I've seen play in person on courts would smoke between games, then come out and dunk on everybody or launch from 35 and hit nothing but net. Hell, when I went for research in Colorado, they were selling various flavors depending on what you needed. For snowboarding, try this and you will be cruising down the mountain. As part of my government based research, I tried it and was skiing smooth and confident, outside of having to be rescued in the trees after getting stuck in a deep tree well for 1.5 hrs and having major panic attacks while belly button deep in snow 30 feet up a tree. Outside of almost dying, I skiied better than I ever have, and was braced from ankle to hip. There was another flavor for body pain and aches post skiing. It was like taking a pain pill without passing out or itching my skin off.

I think it would cause more problems then help

Mariota or one of the Oregon Ducks was talking about it in an interview a couple years back. There are definitely some D-I players who practice and/or play after blazing (I've known more than a few) and for some they do just fine. Many others, they definitely can't pull it off, but their teammates much more often than not are quick to jump in and tell them they can't be on that.

I'm glad to see Goodell leaning towards the direction in which the general public and employers should/ought to be viewing marijuana: not encouraged, but really not that big of a deal, and certainly less harmful or undesirable than alcohol.
