I remember watching races-stock car- on TV from Hickory. Don't believe they ever paved that one. Haven't been to see a dirt track race. Have been to a 1/4 mile where they raced small cars. There is one in my home town in east Tennessee. Don't think they still use it though.
Love dirt track racing. Been following USAC longer than I have Nascar. There is nothing better than sprints, modifides and late models at your local track. Keep an eye on USAC's Levi Jones, he could be a upcoming star in Nascar within a few seasons.
i'm not a huge modified fan, but i love USAC. i wish their series would come around Knoxville more often. only time i get to see them is when i am in Indy for the 500 or 400.
Dirt track is the best kind of racing there is......Nothing can beat the sound and smell of a Super Late Model 3 wheeling around the outside at Volunteer Speedway on a Saturday night
there's a GREAT new sprit car game out for PS2 (dunno about 360) called Sprint Cars: Road to Knoxville. the default is 3/4 midgets, WOO, and modifieds and you earn the right to drive other cars.
