This time of the year, full-qualifiers who spent last fall at at JC start getting looks as four-year schools try to fill holes in their rosters. That is exactly what happened to Butte C Darin Gooch (6-2.5, 305) as the Tennessee coaching staff were in need of a pivot. This week things came to a head and on Saturday, the talented lineman signed with the Volunteers and will enroll next week...

Hubbs said the visit went good but after meeting Gooch & Hendrickson face to face the staff decided to sign Gooch instead.

Over on Go Vols Extra it says that Dallas expects a final decision on offering him a scholly or not by Monday. I don't know how we'll work the numbers for the '10 class but I would be extremely excited if we can sign both Gooch and Hendikson.

It's good you're extremely excited, but you have to remember, these aren't really guys anyone else wanted. Hopefully they will turn into productive linemen...
