I'm looking to buy a newer phone. I'm specifically looking at a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. You'd think this would be cut and dry but I find my brain exploding when I go to Amazon or Ebay to pick out one to buy. I'm suddenly inundated with multiple models of the same phone.
GT-I9190
GT-I9195
GT-I9192
SCH-I435
SGH-I257

So many of these models say they are "unlocked" so put whatever sim card you buy in it and it should work. Then I dig deeper into some of these "unlocked" model phones to find out that it's unlocked but it only works in Europe and Venezuela. Then apparently some of the S4 mini models have 8GB of ROM memory and some have 16GB.

Naturally I'd like a new if not close to it 16GB version at the cheapest price but it also will need to work with Cricket/At&T.

-sidenote AT&T bought out Cricket and they're switching all the CDMA user over to GSM phones hence the new purchase, but I needed to upgrade anyway.

I'm aware that the mini models of the same Galaxy phones aren't as robust as their gigantic counter parts but I've come to terms with it. I'm honestly just looking for some input and guidance on which exact model to get.

Can you not do an upgrade in store? This should work for you if you want to buy one straight out.

Also not sure if it matters to you but S5 mini will be released sometime soon. Thought I'd let you know if youd want the newer one.

That's actually about $100 more than the links I was looking at. The S5 mini is out but they're still around $320-$350. The prices I'm seeing for the S4 mini are between $180 and $215.

This shows the different models. Looks like the sgh-i257 is the US AT&T model.

Yeah, I was just unsure about which model(s) I could use given that they would be unlocked. Apparently the biggest difference is that you would get service but if you don't get the right model you might not get the 4G LTE.
