Can't wait till Saturday!! Football Time again!! We are going to be camping in townsend near Cades Cove. We are going to drive down to the game early Saturday to get some barbe-Q going on the smoker and the beer on Ice. I hope this year starts out right. I know we have alot of traditions here in Tennessee. I was just curious what everyone else's gameday routines where.

Go Big Orange!!!! Can't Wait!!

We are leaving Chattanooga at 10am and as soon as we get to knoxville we will fire the grill up. Looks like marinated chicken tenders, bakedbeans and corn. Of course some adult beverages on ice and a TV watching all the early games. We will be in a white expedition. Don't know where we will be any suggestions :dunno:

We usually park on the strip behind Rite-Aid Drug store (I think that is the name). Real Party atmosphere. $15.00 though. Usually grill then drink a few and walk over for the Vol Walk. Then hang with some freinds who have parking pass in front of Neyland till about 30,40 minutes till kickoff.

Leaving Charlotte at 7am, should put me up there around 11-12... probably gonna park behind O'Charleys?? Maybe try to get close to frat park where Freak and the rest are gonna be, but by that time I doubt I'll be able to get in...?? I dunno, then gonna grab some grub at Gus's....unless you're packing plenty of bbq in that smoker for four more Orange Bretheren!!! :)

They closed the O'Charleys on the Strip BTW.

We got a hotel room for after the game..any suggestions on Clubs to go to after the game? From what I hear the strip is dead now.

Oh wow! I'm envious. That part of Tenn is beautiful and I love Cades Cove!

I'll be here in Bama watching all the games (including UT). :) I've order a slab of Ribs from 'Dreamland' and plan to have cold beer and home-made cole slaw for Saturday. I may even warm up the daquari machine too! Lol!

I need some tailgating advice!!

I have not been to a UT game in 13 Years (I know it's been a while) I was 10 then. I have never really gotten to experance the whole "tailgating" Part of the UT Football life and I really REALLY want too!!!

So where do I start?

So where is this tailgate near the rock? I'll be coming from 11th St. garage. My ankle is kind of messed up and I don't want to walk miles and miles but I'll stop by if I can make it there.

13 years!! man!! I tell you what if I had to tell you one thing to do. It would be make sure get there early. Drink a few cold ones, Fire the grill up, meet some new people, chill out for awhile then head up for the vol walk, watch the band come down the hill playing Rocky Top, sit around and watch the call in show for awhile. It's all about coming together. This whole state comes together for just a little while on Saturdays in Neyland. It gives me cold chills just thinking about it. It doesn't mater Black, White, Yellow. All that matters Saturday is Orange and whoever's got Orange on is alright with me.

Go Big Orange!! he-ya!!!

So..here is the menu set in stone for tomm.

Grilled chicken tenders (marinated in a tropical tangy sauce since yesterday.

Johnson's Bratwursts (grilled then placed in a bath of beer and onion)

Cole slaw

Potato salad


Baked beans

2 cases of beer (between 3 people)

Still don't have a clue where to park, we will be in Ktown around 12pm.

The rock is in frat park, near volunteer blvd and frat park dr....
volmanal and etnrider, you guys wanna get up and put a few down? I'm coming from Charlotte, bringing my girlfriend and two of my buddies. plannin on getting there around noon and either parking near frat park (I'm assuming I won't find a place) or somewhere off the strip, prob near charlie peppers...?? just wondering, could be fun....we're gonna be having a blast regardless, and the more the merrier!!!!

ok, update...we will now be leaving at 7am from Chattanooga.... So depending on traffic that will put us there at 9am. Couple of more quick questions: Should we bring a canopy? We have one we always take to talledega its like 12x12 in size. We will also have a tv with regular antenea with a PS2 so we can play NCAA 07. (taking on all challengers) When we tailgate we do it real big, just curious on whats the limits we can do.

I will try and stop in also!!! I will be in a red dodge ram with the cooler and grill!!! Like everyone else!!! See you guys there!!! Where is everyone sitting??

I am in "T" row 40 seats 6&7 (THE FIFTY BABY!!!)
