Any thoughts on the Oregon/Cal matchup?

I'm baised obviously, but. . .

oregons dline is horrible (stanford and houston were blowing these guys off the ball) and their linebackers are slow. dixon hasn't been pressured all year. they've averaged at least 2 turnovers a game. If we're healthy (cal has 3 defensive starters day to day) all signs point to a cal victory IMO.

I think Cal may lose this one... or at least my picks on Facebook say so. I also think that USF beats the higher ranked team they play... forgot who it was though.

That would be West virginia. I dont see that one happening.

Cal hasn't looked great since Tennessee. I dont think there is much doubt that this one will be high scoring. Cal is the 4.5 pt underdog right now though.

Neither defense is any good. Both offenses are incredible. Home team has won the last 4, so Oregon wins. I'm pretty confident in that, as well.

oregons defense is much worse IMO. stanford was blowing that dline off the ball. special teams is also an edge.

No they aren't. Their secondary is supremely better than yours. Both defenses are atrocious.

Their secondary might be better, but their dline and linebackers are far far worse (both talent and experience). There is no reason that cal shouldn't be able to run at will. Tedford has a history of keeping oregon's offense in check too.

Oregon has more TFL than Cal. Oregon has a better net punting average, and better KR than Cal.

This game is a close one, but the home team each year has a decided advantage. Their offense is better, too.

We'll see i guess. i've watched all of oregon's games and i have not been as impressed as others. to me they look exactly the same as they did last year when they were 4-0. all i know is I saw houston and stanford oline completely dominated oregons dline and dixon has yet to have played a disciplined defense. oregon has better offensive stats, but we have the better oline and playmakers IMO. but it is a huge homefield advantage. :dunno:

Don't bash houston now! they actually have a very good oline, and a great RB in Alridge.

Also, your bias shows here, as you didn't check the facts. At least not all the way to the end.

In the 4 meetings they've had from 2002-2006, Cal held Oregon to 4.5 ppg LESS than Oregon's season average. So, yes, you're right. HOWEVER, Oregon has held Cal to 6.3 ppg LESS than Cal's season average.

Also, the 2 games in Eugene, Oregon has held Cal to 14.25 PPG LESS THAN CAL'S SEASON AVERAGE! While Cal held Oregon to only 3.05 ppg less than the Oregon season average.

i'd argue that the production in oregon in 03 and 05 had a lot more to do with inexperience at qb and other positions and in 05 utter poo poo at qb than anything oregon did.

:p

in 05 ayoob threw 3 or 4 ints and missed at least 6 wide open receivers for easy tds. we still were a missed field goal at the buzzer away from winning.

i've watched every minute of every cal game and most minutes of every oregon game. these opinions, while probably biased, are based on what i've seen. And what i've seen is probably one of the worst dlines in the country and a slow linebacking core. and I know that with our oline and rbs that we will exploit that.

Will oregon be able to pull this one out? Cal

I think Oregon wins by 7. Good luck to Cal. Ive watched both play and I think the edge goes to Oregon wins because of there D. (And home field adv.) Its not a GREAT D but I think it will hold Cals points down not the same can be said for Cal. I do wish Cal good luck. JMO...

I want to see if Oregon deserves their ranking. They were ranked after beating an unranked Michigan team that just lost to Appy State.

I still think they will beat Cal.

Oregon beats Cal somewhat easily, maybe by 2 touchdowns. Both defenses are pretty bad, but Oregon definitely has a better secondary, and their LB's aren't as slow as you say. Cal is just as overrated as Wisconsin. Future Holiday Bowl for the 2?

I got Cal winning this one.

I know Oregon is at home and should want a good measure of revenge after being embarrassed last year, but I think Cal has their number.

I hope its better than last year
