My guess is the game being free and UTAD making profit off concessions/beer sales would’ve been the better play here, especially considering a larger crowd is a benefit for recruiting.

It’s $5. People will pay $17 for tasteless urine accelerator at a game, spend $20 in gas to get to a game, but $5 is a dealbreaker. Bizarre.

People spend more on a morning cup of coffee they drink for about 20minutes, but complain about $5 to be entertained by their favorite team for a couple hours.

Some will buy tix at the gate but I assume attendance will be below 45k.

I can't believe anyone would gripe about a 5 dollar ticket to the Spring game. Attendance should be WAY above 45K. You're not going to experience a boring ass 10-7 snooze fest like the Florida Spring game last night.

Who’s griping? I have another commitment and can’t go regardless so it wouldn’t have mattered to me if they were charging $50 a ticket. I hope there’s a great crowd.

Keep the poor out of Neyland! Been a while since I’ve attended a spring game but it was a very different crowd and demographics than regular season games. Lots of obviously less well off people and tons of kids.
