Any Word on Jill in China yet?

Has anyone heard any news on Jill's 3x3 event happening in China starting tomorrow? She should have left the team in Europe a day or two ago to meet her 3x3 team in China.

I don't know but given the Griner situation in Russia, playing ball in a non-freedom-loving country seems like an unnecessary risk. Safe travels Jill.

She hopefully doesn't have illegal substances on her. Almost every country in this world is a freedom-loving country---unfortunately, many governments in this world are not so freedom-loving. I guess we'll not get into that here.

Per UTSPORTS.COM

Due to an injury, Tennessee rising junior forward Jillian Hollingshead will not play for the 2023 USA Women's Basketball 3x3 U21 Nations League Team. The 6-foot-5 native of Gainesville, Ga., was set to compete beginning June 24 in Handan, China, but she instead returned with the Lady Vols to Knoxville on June 23 following their two-week tour of Italy and Greece.

Wonder what happened, hope it’s minor.

So she never left the team. Whew. Makes me feel much more comfortable. Discomfort. May have just decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

Injured. Again.

That seems a little harsh. She did struggle w an injury and illness her one yr at GA, and obviously wasn't happy there or wouldn't have left. But unless I'm forgetting Jill didn't miss a play last year except for the one concussion proto game when she knocked noggins w someone in practice. You make it sound like she's a chronically injured player and that hasn't been the case here.

My guess is some combo of a tweak somewhere, travel fatigue, and China, while exciting, is also daunting right now. I said from the get go the schedules of Jill, Rickea and Jewel are not for anyone over 25. I think Jill will be fine.

Not sad she’s not playing 3X3 in China. Hope injury is nothing serious.
I agree totally Lucy
I took 3 VG players and entered into a 3x3 tourney and hated every minute of it.
That venue and the actual mechanics of a real 5x5 game are vastly different and a VERY heavy emphasis is on one on one "watch me" displays
