Any Word On The Time Of The Bama Game?

Given the rest of the SEC schedule that day, i'd bet on 3.30 EST CBS.

Game times and teams will come out on October 9th. for the games on 10/21. I'm not sure who has first pick that week, but if it is CBS look for it to be a 3:30 start.
here are the other SEC games that day besides TN/Bama:
Auburn/Tulane--GamePlan
LSU/Fresno st.--possibly ESPN/ESPN2
ARK/Ole Miss--Lincoln Sports/gameplan
MSU/Georgia--possibly ESPN/ESPN2
Florida is off
USC/Vandy--gameplan/Lincoln Sports
UK is off

I would be shocked if TN/Bama is NOT the CBS national game at 3.30est.

Actually no they don't. sorry to break this to you but they don't.
well who does then? The SEC signed a contract with CBS to air thier games of the week...if they don't have 1st choice, why on earth would ESPN or Lincoln not choose the game of the week?

and if they don't have 1st pick, then on that Saturday of the TN/Bama game, of the games that are on in the SEC, what network would you think the TN/Bama game would be on then?

It's the marquee game of the week in the SEC, and if they don't have 1st pick, then that game i would expect to see on ESPN in primetime or on Lincoln Sports.

he may in fact be correct, but not in the literal sense. According to SECsports.come, the Souteastern Conference AND CBS choose the game to be televised on that network, so in fact, CBS doesn't "choose" what game it's going to televise, but CBS will always televise the marquee game of the week.

So by the letter of the law, he is correct. But not in that another network has rights to the game of the week.

ESPN has some weeks they get the first pick. Like nest week when we have UGA. ESPN had the first pick and took Tn/UGA.. LF or AKA Jefferson Pilot never has the first pick.

Trust me on this. I work for a CBS affiliate.

So, ESPN took TN/UGA over FL/LSU? really? let's see...that's #15 vs. #10 or whatever against two top 10 teams....if ESPN had a choice, they made the wrong one.

in point of fact, as i just posted, the SEC and CBS choose which game will be the feature game on national broadcast TV. AFter that decision is made, then ESPN chooses.

I'd like to know for sure myself, but I think Ooltewah Vol may be right. I thought I read that Espn had the 1st pick and selected the UT/uga game a few weeks ago.

Not sure if I'll do anything more than cloud the water on this 'who picks when' thing, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

Before the season, CBS and ESPN, as the top two TV carriers, are allowed to 'lock in' three games each in the upcoming SEC schedule. The rest are decided by a CBS first, ESPN second pecking order. So an ESPN preseason choice of UT/UGa would preclude CBS from taking that game when they make an 'in season' pick from two weeks out.

As regards UT/Bama, CBS has in every year I can remember, taken that game as a preseason 'lock' game....

Still conused? Sorry, I tried.

It is posted on utsports.com that it has been moved to the Thursday night ESPN game due to conflicting schedules.

Just Kidding:)

That would still be better than the Lincoln Financial (old J.P.) 11:30 a.m. game.
College football is meant to be played on Saturday. I don't like the Thursday games or the occasional Sunday games. Keep the games on Saturday.
