I'm not trying to use this as an excuse by all means, but the grass was so bad and even torn up before the game even started. Looked like a cow pasture out there and you'd think a big school like Arkansas would take better care of their playing service. Anytime somebody make a cut a huge chunk of grass would pop up

Please, belittle us as much as possible. Farmboys arent supposed to beat city boys, are they. WE lite you up, please dont justify yourself in these remarks. And actually, BEING AT THE GAME, i can tell you it is well done

Actually....It was part of the game plan. Nutt instructed the grounds crew to mess up the field to slow down D-Mac thus making the game a little more competitive.

Come on guys . . . It's against code to start talking smack to a guy who just referred to a football field as the "playing service"?

Where do you think they keep that pig mascot during the week?

Actually, the way Arkansas's backs ran up and down the field I'm surprised they had any sod left at all.

It's also been a long time since they've had to worry about what their field looked like on TV in November. Not a shot at them . . . just saying.

:lolabove: No joke. If you thought it looked bad before the game, you should see it AFTER the game.

I wouldn't call UT students city boys. Give me a break.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the condition of the field, but we've been having problems since last year with the sod. A cold weather hybrid was used in places and parts died out. It actually looked worse earlier this year.

You know you have arrived when the worst thing anybody can say about you is that you have trouble growing grass.

This thread is embarssing. We get our butts kicked and a thread starts about the condition of the field. If nothing else that would have slowed McFaddon down. But since that didn't happen it appears us getting blown off the line was not due to sod or brown blades of grass. It was simply we got beat.

I am surprised you didn't blame to grass condition and loss on the ESPN Gameday crew. They were in town.

None of my business really........but I don't believe he was using it as an excuse. It really seemed more like a casual observation.

It's obviously a great facility in Fayetteville, which makes the condition of the field that much more glaring of an issue. But, it certainly had no bearing on the outcome of the game.

Maybe Arkansas will give some of our graduating seniors a job on the grounds-crew. Looks like a bunch of them are going to need a job next year.

I don't think it had anything to do with the outcome of the game, but before the game started I did comment on how poor the field looked. I noticed a few of our players slipping on it, but I imagine the Ark. players had the same problem.

Neyland looks just about as good after the game as it does before. After warmups, you can hardly tell anyone was out there at all.
