Since we are talking about UT merchandise, and I can't start my own thread yet, does anyone know where or if its even possible to get an official game ball? Not just a Wilson ball but with the "T" on it. Anyone ever seen one for sale?
wow Dooley is an idiot he could have just said yea and went and got a ball that was used in a game and given it to him... I bet you can call butch and he sure is heck will find one for a green berets !!!!!!Here is an anecdote. I have a good friend who is also a UT grad and a Major in the U.S. Special Forces community. His wife recently contacted Dooley (obviously before he was fired) through a good mutual friend who was somehow deeply entrenched in the Athletic Department. The point of this contact was to attempt to get a game ball to give to the Major as a Christmas present.
Long story short, Dooley supposedly replied that only one game ball was given per game to an outstanding player and that none were to be given to those outside the program. In essence: Green Berets who graduated from UT and have spent several years overseas, who bleed orange, could in no way get a game ball from the University. That is all I know about getting "real" game used balls.
For full disclosure, I do believe that my friends were told that Dooley would write a letter to the Major in lieu of a game ball. I honestly do not know if the letter was ever sent or received.

That's pretty cool!
It brings up a question from my child hood. Does the ball say "cast bilt" or "last bilt"?
