Anyone else agree that Tony K and the MNF crew stink?

I guess I will have to watch the Tampa game will the volume on mute because Tony Kornheiser and company have to be one of the if not the worst announcing crew ever.

They are pretty bad. I like Kornheiser on PTI, but he just tries to hard on MNF. Jaws can have some pretty decent insight sometimes though

I like Jaws but Tony gets on my nerves also. Does anyone know his background? I always think of the Bud commercial "Mr. unathletic sports talk show guy" when I see Tony.

I like Kornheiser mainly because he thinks it's a complete farce that he's in an announcing booth to begin with.

Just checking, he has no athletic background in his history, except for the fact that Larry Brown was a counselor at a summer camp he went to as a kid.

Good, I respect him even more. I like the way he tries to take over the halftime show with his plethora of football knowledge.

Jaws probably talks too much, but every word he says is spot on analysis. Not too many color men know more than he does.

Agreed.

As for Kornheiser, he'd be much better if he left out the opening monologue.

Jaws, like Phil, is obsessive about "watching the tape". I think he really knows what he is talking about and I enjoy listening to him...Kornheiser is simply beyond worthless. I don't like the bucs, i don't like the panthers, and how in the hell are these two teams both 9-3?!

Gruden, Monte don't know about the panthers though.

I mean I realize that Tampa has a great defense, and monte monte monte, but their offense is mediocre.

I watch the panthers because I live about 5 blocks from the stadium, but I don't care for them, and they are painful to watch. Jake Delhomme should be tied to a leash on the bench with Steve Smith standing over him ready to punch him in the face if he tries to go on the field.

At least Collins can manage a game, Delhomme does his best to piss it away...

I was listening to game on Westwood One Radio while driving. Boomer Esiason and Marv Albert were announcing the game.

They were actually funny and had a great rapport with each other.

I remember thinking, "These guys should be doing the telecast - they are 10 times better than the ESPN crew."

Marv has been known to have great "rapport" with the ladies too

Kornheiser is great in the PTI setting... but I've never been too wild about him in the booth when the game is going on. Pop culture references and wild exaggerations are just about all he provides.

Easy now. Just giving you my thoughts on Tampa and answer to your question. Garcia does a good job of managing the game also.
I trust your insight on the Panthers since I don't follow them.

Did I blast Collins? Can't remember.

i'm not a fan of Jaws because he played for the Eagles, but i will admit he does a good job. i used to like his segments where he broke down the film of various teams for the NFL ESPN shows.

Kornheiser used to have a good radio show. i wish he'd go back to that and PTI but i can tolerate him.

Good call! Kornheiser had to grow on me even on the PTI show. His MNF input is least to be desired for. And for the love of all things good and holy do something with those wild strands of hair on the top!! Either cut it or wear a hat for crying out loud!!

Just adding my two cents, don't take things personally, it was all constructive.

We could have Dennis Miller come back and use about 43 adjectives to describe each play, while Madden attempts to dumb it down for himself...

Madden's comments would be somewhere along the lines of "in order to win, you need to score points"

No prob. I think the Jack started kickn in about 45 min ago. "See now, that how you play football. You tackle." Deep thoughts by John Madden.
