I have about 40 games on VHS. Some are great (86 Sugar Bowl, 92 Florida, All of 98, 96 Citrus Bowl, 02 Citrus Bowl, 95 and 96 Bama, 85 Auburn, 85 Bama, 91 Sugar Bowl, 2003 Miami, Florida and Bama, and then some.

But I've never kept the tapes of games we lost.

My favorite games to watch used to be 90 Florida, 89 Auburn, 91 Auburn, and 92 Georgia. But for some reason, those games are no longer in my collection. (cough, cough, I wonder why?)

But when I was a student, I called a guy named Link Hudson over at the Sports Complex, and he would let me borrow games. And if you've ever been in the UT video archives, you know what I'm talking about when I say, "WOW!!!"

So if any of you ever want to swap tapes, or would like to borrow one, let me know.

I also have the 1993 Sugar Bowl between Miami and Bama. A Bama player, Michael Rogers was interviewed on the sideline and it is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Here's a few in my collection

97' Citrus vs. Northwestern
All of the 98' season except the pay per view games
99' Notre Dame, Kentucky, Auburn, and Alabama
00' Southern Miss, Alabama, Vanderbilt
01' Syracuse, Florida, and for some reason I still have the 01' SEC Championship
02' Citrus Bowl vs. Michigan
03' Fresno State, Alabama

.....I'm sure there's more but these are just a few that come to mind

I didn't start taping Vol games until the Texas Tech game in 1997. I have every game since then that we've won. I taped over the losses. The games I've watched the most? I think I've re-watched the 1997 season more than any other. All of the OT games are fun to watch. I've re-watched this a few times as well: I'm A Soldier!

I don't know how to copy VHS tapes. But if you PM me, I can send them to you in the mail.

If you DO know how to copy VHS tapes, let me know.

I didn't start taping games till the 98 season. For some reason I never thought about it. My dad was in the hospital at the time and I started taping them so he could watch them when he got out. I've been able to get a few older games from other people and would love to add more. You have several that I would love to have, including the 85 Auburn and Bama games, and the 95 and 96 Bama games.

My sister has a two headed VHS recorder that copies tape to tape. It's also possible to hook two VHS recorders together to make copies. You need a set of chords like the ones you use to hook up your dvd player. Just go from the video/audio out on the play vcr to the video/audio in on the copy vcr.

Check your PM, because I would love to try to maybe swap some games or something.

Yeah, now that I know I can convert them to DVD. Every one of those is in good condition. As soon as I have a chance, I'll do it.

I never recorded games because I had this weird superstition that it was bad luck. Because of a crazy new work schedule I started recording them all on DVR last season.......maybe I should have stuck to my gut.

I have a few, like the '89 Auburn game, '90 Cotton Bowl, '91 ND, '99 Fiesta. I have some others, too, but I don't remember where they are, unfortunately. Alot of games I wish I had tapes to are actually games I went to and didn't feel like taping beforehand.

I've got games on tape going back to 1985. I record every game and tape over the losses. However, I've got a few big losses like the 90 game against Notre Dame and the 1980 game against USC.

One of my favorites is the 1985 games against #1 Auburn.

I'm slowly converting all of my tapes to DVD. If I ever make a list, I'll post it here.

Can someone give a short step by step on converting VHS to dvd and using the DVR/TIVO to dvd with commercial editing? Thanks.

You can get a pretty good VHS to DVD recorder at just about any electronics store for around $300 to $400. I don't know about setting up a DVR to record to DVD. Mine is hooked up to record to video tape. The video/audio out chords on the DVR go to the video/audio in on a second RF modulator, then the video out on the RF modulator to video in on the VCR. I'm pretty sure the basic principle is the same for a DVD player.

If anyone has a tape of the 2001 victory in the swamp, I'd be extremely grateful to get a copy of it...that was such an awesome game! How on earth did we blow the SEC championship game the next week!? I had an SECCG party and bought all kinds of roses to give out after our victory...needless to say, I angrily threw a lot of roses out that night and cancelled my flight to Pasadena. Whats that saying about counting your chickens before your eggs hatch?

Anyone feel like spotting me some copies? I used to have a few games until I found out the hard way that what they say about powerful magnets and videotape is actually true.

I'll be more than happy to cover new tape and shipping costs if anyone's interested.
