I am so tired of hearing about how this is America's first African American , or Black President. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't he 50% white and 50% black. So America's first black pres is just as much white as he is black. Gee I haven't heard that in the news. Don't get me wrong, I could care less about our new president having a different color skin tone, but what kind of precedent does this set. Are all mixed raced children Black now? I mean seriously, think about this statement: America's first black president is half white. So all mixed children now are considered black???? I think this is something to ponder?

Fine, he is the first half black President of the United States.

Not sure about that. The ones whom I view as "regulars" are:
BPV
TennTradition
JZVOL
Vader
FineVol
emainvol
Rasputin Vol
MG1968

I am probably leaving a few off, however, I would have to say that these eight, as well as those I have left off (sins of omission, folks) are actually developed thinkers.

My point isn't to cause any revolution. I agree it doesn't matter the race. What I was trying to see was what do we do when half whatever race becomes one race. Ask most blacks and a half white rapper doesn't have "street cred." My point isn't that he didn't earn or deserve it, my point is that he is considered a black president. Let's take a further if you will. Can every child that is born of mixed race now claim black? If so, what does this white parent/ person think? It's for discussion, not an insult to anyone. Sorry for making you think a bit. I am done.

The reasons for why he is viewed as "African-American" for having basically any substantial trace of African ancestry go back to days prior to the inter-continental slave trade.

You do realize that most Americans are essentially mixed breeds.

Yeah, I think my standards for the regulars are a bit more lax.

OE is going to be hurt that you forgot him. :)
