Recorded over the weekend and released yesterday,
it is kick ass!!

He gives Espin and Obama hell.

Good song, it's being played by over 500 radio stations
today most likely.

It sounds like it was put together in a short few hours. Pretty sad actually.

im guessing it's the equivalent of that Ozzy song "I don't wanna stop". Which is unimpressive.

Hank Jr. sucks IMO. I'm glad I don't have to listen to his dumb arse intro anymore. Now if NBC would just can Faith Hill...

Have you actually heard the song??

It's on youtube.

Didn't take that long to write it.

He woke up from a dream at about 4AM and
wrote it right away and had it recorded within
12 hours.

It's a hell of a song imo and it's going to be
an anthem!!

Nearly all the great songs are inspired and
as they say, they just write themselves.

A couple of examples:

Remember 'tequila sunrise'?

The Stones and the Eagles were taking a redeye
charter from Seatle to Houston and as they
approached Houston the copilot decided to go take
a leak and when he opened the cockpit door
the sun shone threw and hit Mick Jagger, who was
sleeping in a front seat, in the face and he awoke
and said; "Oh m God, it's a tequila sunrise.'

One of the Eagles players heard him and said; 'that's
a song' and went and sat down and wrote that song
which was finished by the time they landed about
15 or 20 minutes later.

One night a songwriter who lived next door to
John Wayne was over at his house and they were
having a few and finally John said the guy was
getting drunk, he needed to go on home.

So he did and as he walked in his front door his
cuckoo clock called out midnight.

He went into his dining room and sat down and
wrote on of the best songs ever in about ten minutes.

Can't remember the lyrics now, I've had a few and
heck it's after midnight anyway.

Here it is:

KEEP THE CHANGE!

I'll keep my freedom
I'll keep my guns
Try to keep my money
And my religion too

Try to keep on workin'
Try to keep on smilin'
I will keep my Christian name
And y'all can keep the change

I'll keep my heroes
Pictures on the wall
I'll keep my family safe
You bluff when I call
I'm gonna keep my big V8
Keep my friends the same
Keep the government outta my business
And y'all can keep the change

This country's sure as hell been goin' down the drain
We know what we need
We know who to blame
United Socialist States of America
How do you like that name?
I'll keep the USA and y'all can keep the change

So FOX and friends
Wanna put me down
Ask for my opinion
Then twist it all around
Supposed to be talkin' about my father's new CD
Well two can play that "Gotcha Game" just wait and see
Don't tread on me

This country's sure as hell been goin' down the drain
We know what we need
We know who to blame
United Socialist States of America
Don't ya just love that name?
I'll keep the USA and y'all can keep the change

I'll keep the USA and y'all can keep the change

Yeah, you can keep FOX and friends and ESPN outta your homes too
Cause Bocephus and all his rowdy friends and his song is outta there!

Yessir!

Hank Jr. is a talentless buffoon trying to hang on to the last little bit of notoriety he can by putting together a few buzz words in a bad song. Let's see how many suckers he can get $$ out of.

Hey GS, The song was written back in 2008 right after the election. He just changed a few lines to work Fox and ESPN in there. Sorry to burst your bubble on this "anthem" there buddy.

I'm torn here. Hank is coming off as a complete hick, but he is calling out Fox and Friends which might be one of the worst shows on TV, so the song can't be all bad.

I just think it's funny how in love with the song GS is. Takes me back to when I was a kid and heard Sabbath for the first time.

An anthem, he says. Anthem!

If HWJ was shooting dope, he might have a legit excuse for writing crap tunes at 4 am.

Last night I caught a few minutes of him on Hannity and it was surreal watching him beat his chest and brag that another network had contacted him about doing an intro . . . as if anybody watching a football game givea a rat's ass about cheesy intro music.

That "cheesy" intro you speak of is a cornerstone of patriotism and free speech!

Also, titties and beer.

rofl. If it's patriotic to be mediocre, then consider me Norm McDonald.

I'm hip, basically all his songs sound like rewrites to me.

Still, he does have his following and he won't have to go
to the Al Gore network to get another gig like Olberman
and the ousted demo Michigan governor.

Don't let's lose the real issue here, Espin came off as
knee jerk reactionaries that would suppress free speech,
they can't change that.

ESPN can fire or pull anyone they want. It's their network. Mixing this up with a free speech issue is both stupid and pointless.
