Anyone listening to Cut on 990?

Freak, I heard a little bit of what he said. "OC job at UT is better than a lot of head coaching jobs" & "it would be a dream for him to someday be HC at UT".

I am calling it right now....... Cut will be the UT OC once again.... and Sanders will be reatained as a position coach.

It is a lock.

That seems to be the consensus at this point.

if anyone really thinks Cut won't be the OC, they're on crack.

Fulmer needs someone that he knows, He needs someone that knows how HE thinks as well...Cut probably won't get a job offer as HC, at least at a school that he wants to be an HC at. Plus why on earth would he move back to Knoxville, only to move again less than a year later?

What position coach will RS be? I will go berserk if he is the QB coach.

I guess it depends on what other staff moves will be made but I would guess WR or RB.

I don't know about that? with all the criticsm he's taken this year, he may walk on his own...this year has been tough on him, right or wrong.

I will say this, i think if he only had one thing to focus on, and with Cut back, he'd do OK as a qb coach...he DID do a great job with them last year don't forget.

but keep in mind, i'm not exactly super excited about Cut coming back either...we need new, fresh ideas, and someone that can get people excited about playing offense at UT...Cut is really just "out with old, bring in the old new guy".

Oh well...it'll all work out in the end...

I think you're right. Could we loyal Vol fans want Cut back because we know him and we know what to expect.

Getting someone completely new may scare people. Fear of the unknown.

I think it would scare Fulmer more than anyone. Fear of someone over his shoulder always thinking "This could be my job some day" is not the best feeling Fulmer could potentially have....

i think you guys are right cut has already said yes and they are just waiting to make it official. i also think it is the wrong move i think we need new blood to come in and open up the offense. i'm not saying coach cut isn't good, but there are better OC out there. i also think that is the reason after next year fulmer won't be around, he shows to much loyalty. he does what he likes to , not what is best for the team. i think that will be his downfall.

There is still a chance Cut might get offered a HC somewhere like UAB, and will turn down the OC job here. I think he would rather be a HC coach then OC.

7 of the Vols top 10 all-time rushers were coached at some point in their career by Randy Sanders while he was the RB coach.

[Trooper Taylor] The Cuero, Texas, native came to Knoxville after a five-year stint coaching receivers at Tulane. He coached four wideouts into the NFL during his tenure in New Orleans, including the nation's top receiving trio in 2001 of Adrian Burnette, Kerwin Cook and Terrell Harris. They combined to lead the country with 2,384 receiving yards on 185 catches.

Shift Taylor to receivers and retain Sanders as running backs coach.

here is a thought.

Cutcliff becomes OC....

Sanders is moved to wide receivers......

TT stays with the running backs.....

New offensive line coach.....

In two years Cut takes another head coaching job.....

And here is the kicker....... Sanders gets repromoted to OC......

think about it...... it could happen. loyalty loyalty inbreeding etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a plan made out of panic and no confidence in the current group of available NCAA coaches. RS has had a run that many good coaches will never get and IMO not done a very good job at some of the things he has been assigned to do. Sure he did a good job when he was a position coach, but I can't see him taking a step down and doing a good job. If for no other reason he needs to realize, and I am sure he does, that their are a lot of people who love Tennesse Football want to see him gone. He needs to cut his losses and move on. As for Cut, he too has had a good run at Tennessee, been blessed with some good football players, but this is not what we need and IMO want as a new OC. Bring someone in that I can not guess what his first 3 plays are going to be. :twocents:
