This is my first post, so I'm not sure if I should be posting this here, but I thought you all might be able to help me. Has anyone ever seen one of these lights before? If so, how much do they go for? I've not seen one before, and would love to get this one. Before I place my bid, I want to make sure I don't get myself in trouble with the wife by bidding too high! :nono:

I've never seen anything like that either so I wouldn't know what to tell ya, but you maybe shouldn't have posted that in here....now you could have some more bidding competition!!:p

Looks like the owner took a stencil set and painted the UT emblems on it. That is probably the best way to go, as the stencils and the paint will cost a lot less.

I actually thought of that. Though, I emailed the seller and asked him if the logos were painted on by someone or were stickers or was it factory made like that. He said it was factory made.

I hate ebay. It costs me too much $$ and makes me have to move things around in my UT room to make room for my new purchases. :dance2:

With the seller ebay name "ih8vols", I would be very skeptical. The guy is a bammer fan. His transaction history showing him buying ticket stubs to old bammer games. He also bought "Foreplay Board Game, NEW, 1001 Nights of Pleasure. " LOL

To be honest, I don't care who idiot pulls for. I was just hoping someone on here may have seen one of these lights before. I've never seen one, thought someone in the Vol Nation might have, or may know where I can get one.

No offense dude. I may have to side with wife on this one. If this isnt free I would not get it. There are lots of cool Tennessee stuff on MSN shopping. This lighting fixture is Jeff Foxworthy material.

Why bid now--there's about 5 days left. All you'll do is run up the cost of the item. I always bid 33 secs before the auction ends.

Good advice, just buy a plain one and have the wife paint stencil your own design.

The logo doesn't even look right. Our logo is a trademark and can only be replicated within certain parameters and should always have the Trademark symbol. Ask to see that. Otherwise the guys wife stenciled it. Besides, how can you support a Bama Fan?

I'm sorry guys, but this posting has turned into complete ignorance. The guy's wife stenciled it????? I just had a guy PM me and he has one exactly like it. So this retarded talk of the guy's wife stenciling it is BS. The guy who has one bought it at a light store. Unless this Bammer fan's wife is mass producing UT lights in her home, I think it's real.

How can I support a Bama fan??? I'm buying a freakin' UT light from him!?!?!?!?! He obviously bought a house that had a UT light in it, and it selling it. If I bought a Bama house with a light, I'd do the same thing.

So with your rationale....would you refuse to buy tickets to the Bama-UT game if it was a Bammer selling them?!?! Some of your comments are completely ignorant and childish.

I'm just dumbfounded by the ignorance that a simple question brought out. :shakehead:

I wait and bid at the last minute as well. I was just wanting to see if anyone else had seen one of these. I've yet to place a bid.

Sounds like a scam to me, like those e-mails I get all the time from some African prime minister or Royal family member wanting me to help him get $10, 000 out of the country by just sending him my bank account info and I'll get half!! Buyer Beware!

I just think it is an ugly light. Not ignorance. Looks like something to hang up in the dining room in the single wide. Not even nice enough for the double wide.

Check with Keener Lighting on Broadway near Jackson Ave. They have some VOL lighting hanging in their window display.

The light, IMO, appears cheap, poorly made, and the logo is not (in any way) representative of the "real" UT logo. The color appears off, as well, though it's hard to tell from a picture. The fact that it is going for $33 seems crazy.

If you ARE in the market for serious lighting, Keener does have a nice, albeit pricey, selection. Last I was there, they even had signed and numbered stained glass fixtures from the National Championship season. You can also find some very nice lamps at Hounddogs, though I'm not sure if they have ceiling fixtures.

I hope this helps. As for "who" you would be buying from, I would NEVER engage in a transaction with someone who goes by "ih8vols." Sorry, that's just how it is. Call me ignorant or closed-minded. Doesn't bother me a bit.

I'm with KD and obx on this one. I think you should just put decals on your already owned lighting fixture, you'll save money and come closer to getting the logo right. If not, you should get this lightbulb instead...
