Why would Alabama be reduced to hiring a guy that BYU, Stanford, and NC State wouldn't hire? Norm Chow has exactly the same number of wins as a D-I head coach as I do. For God's sake, it's Alabama, not Troy.
Ohio State did it with Jim Tressel, if I'm not mistaken. They are a prestigious program and it worked out well for them. I think Norm Chow would be a pretty good hire. He may not be experienced enough for Bama, but BYU, Stanford, and NC State all made a mistake, in my opinion.
Jim Tressel had won multiple National Championships at the I-AA level. Remind me again what Norm Chow's accomplishments as a head coach are. Also, Tressel was an icon in Ohio and had bulit in local support. I'm sure Bear's supporters would just be thrilled to have Chow walking the sidelines.Ohio State did it with Jim Tressel, if I'm not mistaken.
