Anyone starting to wish Bama would move now on a hire?...

Rather than waiting for the end of the nfl season? Could get interesting if it goes into first week of Jan. The time for a desperate hire would be now.

What NFL coaches are looking at the ax at the end of the season? Green, Mora, who else?

Surely this is hurting their recruiting. Has anybody heard of any commitments backing out?

What's the knock on Norm Chow?
Why would Alabama be reduced to hiring a guy that BYU, Stanford, and NC State wouldn't hire? Norm Chow has exactly the same number of wins as a D-I head coach as I do. For God's sake, it's Alabama, not Troy.

Ohio State did it with Jim Tressel, if I'm not mistaken. They are a prestigious program and it worked out well for them. I think Norm Chow would be a pretty good hire. He may not be experienced enough for Bama, but BYU, Stanford, and NC State all made a mistake, in my opinion.

Does Chow have head coaching experience at all though? I'm pretty sure Youngstown St was pretty successful w/ Tressel at the helm

Jim Tressel had won multiple National Championships at the I-AA level. Remind me again what Norm Chow's accomplishments as a head coach are. Also, Tressel was an icon in Ohio and had bulit in local support. I'm sure Bear's supporters would just be thrilled to have Chow walking the sidelines.

Well, head coaching experience wasn't brought up. Although I did address that Chow was inexperienced for the Bama job. Still, he has the same number of D-1 wins as Tressel at the time of the OSU hiring, like I said. Regardless, I still think Chow would have done well at Stanford. NC State actually made a good hire, even though they passed on Norm.

If they hire any of those three, Mal Moore is even a bigger imbecile than I thought.
now that would be tough...if there is one guy that Bama fans should be irrate at, it's Moore. the guy is an idiot.

18-22yr olds could not handle Coughlin berrating them all the time. They would fall apart (more than they have) three weeks into the season
