Anyone who watched the Oklahoma State/Florida State game last night, still questioning Butch Jones for offering a long snapper a scholarship?

The OK State long snapper plays another position and handles long snapping duty, where are Riley Lovingood is a specialist-he is very good at it and will do nothing but that when he arrives at UT.

The OK State long snapping miscues cost them the game with FSU last night.

And penalties.... and turnovers.... I agree to some extent it hurt them but saying it cost them the game is a case of you taking the events and squeezing them to fit the story you want to tell.

Judging from how many game changing blocked punts we have had at the hands of the Florida Gators over the last 10 years I would give the kid two scholarships if that's what it took to get him.

The only points candy got Thursday night was a bad long snap to the punter. Didn't see the F $ U game but it sounds like it had an impact there as well.

LS in the NFL is one of the positions that if you are good at it you can stay in the league for years. Really good LS are highly valued in the NFL. I am guessing they see a big ROI by having a good one, so we will too. Not a relative to any of the LS either so I do not have a blue tick hound in that hunt.

Had a guy on my hall at Carson-Newman who used to practice in our 7ft ceiling hallway all the time- dude was like clockwork.

The good news is that Butch Jones gets it and understands the value and need for a top notch long snapper.

Those who don't, probably never will until the day comes when our own team loses a game because of multiple bad snaps from a non-scholarship long snapper or non-specializing long snapper.

Thank God that Butch gets it.

Never once questioned the scholarship for a LS. Special teams are critical to success in modern football. Just wait till you see the difference in speed on the special teams this season and the big difference it makes. Most of that speed is inexperienced, but they will come on strong.
