Season Three starts next Sunday, June 11th on HBO.

I LOVE this show.

I have been to the REAL Deadwood, S.D.

There is a good chance that this season is the show's last. David Milch the creator said he didn't want to do more than 4, but the contracts of all the actors/actresses expires on 6-11, and they have only filmed through season three.

Bitchin' show. I watch it from time to time. I will probably watch this season as it's side-by-side in the lineup with Entourage.

Who's your favorite character, storyline, etc?

Al Swerengen is by far my favorite character. The relationship between him and Bullock is great - polar opposites but yet very similar.

Love Swearigen. Reason he and Bullock get along is they know exactly where each other stands. Love also the hotel manager E.B Farnum. He is hilarious. Can't wait for next Sunday's Deadwood to my year's dose of cuss words in one hour.

Pretty good show last night. It set the stage for a lot of interesting story lines.

The Elections
The Baby coming
Dynamic between Cy and Joanie
Is Jane EVER gonna get herself cleaned up?
A bloody war between Al and Hearst

It was wild to see Al cow-tailing to Hearst at first.

I thought Joanie was gonna pull the trigger...I was like DAMN!

The thing I found MOST interesting though, was that as lawless as Deadwood was, as bad a situation as they are in there......the kids prayed in school, and no pun intended, but "God Forbid" we do that now, in a more "polished" society. I thought it was great of Milch to throw that in there.

That's one of the interesting contrasts. People speak much more formally, they dress formally (even though their clothes are dirty), they are very formal in greetings, etc. yet they are more savage and brutal.

I rewatched Episode 25.

Jane had some excellent quotes.

"I drink what I am able. If that comes to much, that's the day's affair and the liquor's."

and

"Everyday takes figuring out all over again, how to F----- live."

I read this week that THIS SEASON WILL BE THE LAST, but that they are going to do two two-hour episodes in addition to the last 11 episodes to finish off the series. Those two are unknown when they will be shown at this time.

A week or so ago there was a good article (probably syndicated) in the Commercial Appeal regarding the show. The guy who plays E.B. Farnum is from Memphis. They mentioned the last two episodes being two-hour programs.

Well, I settled in tonight to watch my Sunday HBO shows and my HBO channel wasn't working. My other 5 HBO channels were working, but not the one with Deadwood on. It's just a black screen telling me to wait.

30 minutes of waiting and two phone calls to Comcast later, it's still not working. Every other channel on my cable box is working except for this one. They said they don't know why that is and it could possibly be my box.

Has anyone heard of this? The box malfunctioning on only one channel? I find that hard to believe. If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

I give Comcast the 5 finger salute.. :realmad:

:finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger:

CBC's wife told me she sees dead wood at least twice a week. Oh, wait a minute, that's not what you were talking about was it?

:lolabove: Should I suspend you for that?

I think you are going to have to. I just broke the board rules.

CBC knows I am kidding though.

Deadwood was pretty good last night. It sounds like you have digital cable so I assume you will catch it OnDemand and I won't post re: what happened. I can't say I have had problems with one channel going out like that. It sounds suspucious. Maybe you should check to see if your neighbors are pirating cable from you.

Without saying too much, the war between Al and Hearst is really heating up.

Jane was really entertaining too. She's quickly becoming one of my more favorite characters.

Another note about the cast -- I was surprised to see that Cy Tolliver is played by Powers Boothe. I knew he looked familiar but I could never place him.

Great character (but a mean SOB!)

She does a great job on Deadwood.

I just caught the rerun tonight. Looks like things are going to get interesting this season.
