Man that sucked. Depressing.

Guiliani - No thanks.
McCain - No thanks.
Tommy Thompson - not that you ever had a chance, but you really sucked.

Anyone watch and have any opinions?

I just saw some clips. Sounds like the highlight of the night was Giuliani ripping Ron Paul a new one.

I thought Giuliani really sucked it up though. His against abortion but for a woman's right to choose really doesn't play in SC I don't think or with anyone looking for a real conservative. I did not see the Ron Paul comment.

Ron Paul basically came out of left field and said that we brought 9-11 on ourselves.

These debates are really set up poorly. When a candidate gets questions on should a woman have a right to an abortion from a pregnancy due to rape. I don't know it kind of looks silly. I think the president should have more macro things to concern himself with than this. But that is what gets people attention I guess.

Anyone that wastes a vote on ANY of these candidates needs to get their head examined. The GOP and Dem candidates are all terrible.

If you don't vote, you have no right to complain... my azz! If we don't get better choices than what we have now, I could spen that time that I would have been waiting in a voting line actually doing something constructive... like sleeping, fishing, drinking a cold beer, or a million other things.

The republic is burning around us, and were having to decide between Nero or Caligula.

I have no doubt that Newt Gingrich and Fred Thompson are salivating.

John McCain is a dead ringer for a SNL character. I swear watching the actual McCain makes me feel like I am actually watching a SNL skit of someone lampooning John McCain. That is a weird feeling.

Newt is the Hillary of the GOP. If anything, Newt will energize the Dems base as much as he would energize the GOP.

Thompson is OK... he's better than what we have right now. But being better than we have to choose from right now ain't really saying much.

Where is John Kasich?

The funny thing about Newt though is that he's been out of politics so long that his baggage has gotten old.

The people will be reminded by the liberals that he was the ringleader of the impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton... If Hillary is the candidate, she will make sure to remind them about the "vast right wing conspiracy" and "the politics of personal destruction".

Newt has been married three times, leaving his wife for a much younger woman. I just dont see that playing well with the Christian right and in middle America. IMO he just distracting attention away from candidates who might have a chance.

I think Thompson can win the Republican nomination but he will probably lose the election. America wants out of Iraq and the only candidates who seem to listen to that are Democrats. You would have thought the mid-terms elections would have sent a message to the Republicans but apparently not.

.

As long as there are no pictures of him with farm animals, the "Christian Right" would vote for him instead of Hillary.

McCain - did much better than last debate. He actually seemed consistent throughout the debate. He had substance and humor. It was nothing handing the nomination to him but it definitely didn't drop him.

Romney - I swear he should be a gameshow host. The guy just says all the right things. And no one has the honest ability to do that. Put him on hosting the Family Feud.

Giuliani - better than last debate but bogged down in abortion yet again. He better have gone over to Ron Paul and kissed his rear for saving him last night. Take Paul out and Giuliani would have been all but through.

Brownback - the nappy headed, pot smoking, used car salesman...can he ever open his eyes and say something besides warm fuzzies?

Huckabee - his stock soared last night. Although he's still second tier, he did everything right last night. His zinger on Edwards and his pummeling Giuliani on principles and abortion were firm and aggressive. Honestly I think he won last night. He made people reconsider but needs another to even think about moving into the top tier.

As many said last night, time's up for the lower tier. It's time to take your ball and go home. Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson, Gilmore, and Paul should definitely drop. All they are doing is distracting from the real ones and like Paul, he's helping a candidate who is not like-minded on his issues.

It would be fine with me if everyone else dropped out except for Huckabee, McCain and Romney. I don't think this country is going to elect someone who has been married 3 times as president. IMO Guilani is not going to carry the heartland of this country because of it.

Well I know here in GA there are quite a few on the Religious Right openly endorsing Giuliani. That in itself shows that even with that sort of baggage the religious conservatives may throw morals out as a requirement in order to defeat Hillary. The lesser of the two evils?
