I would've voted for Coach Pearl. However, I don't think the voters did a poor job. A good argument can be made for both Williams and Wright as COY.

Vote must have been taken pre-tourney..I could make a case for Billy D to be top 5, and GMU's coach Larranga as well.

Two good weeks does not a season make. Anyone who would vote for Larranaga is engaging in pure bandwagon voting. His team has losses to Mississippi State and Wake Forest on their resume. Florida will shatter Cinderella's glass slipper tomorrow evening.

Agreed. UNC finished no better in the ACC than did UT in the SEC - Likewise in the NCAA tourney.

The ACC was no better than the SEC this year.

UF won the SEC Tourney (UNC did not win ACC Tourney). UF is in Final Four, UNC went out in round 2.

I think UF does to GMU what Kansas did to Marquette in the FF a few yrs back..UF by 20.

That is the exact analogy I used in a conversation last night. Michigan State annihilating Penn in '79 is also comparable.

No, he lost Curtis Sumpter to a knee injury. Also, Jason Fraser was plagued by injuries, as usual, all year. I think Wright certainly did one of the best jobs in the country.

My biggest beef is the margin that Roy-boy won with.

It seems that the media and analysts jumped on this bandwagon in the mid-season and never got off of it. He certainly did a very good job of coaching this year but wasn't the runaway winner IMHO.

Brady is nowhere near the worst coach to take a team to the Final Four. Steve Fisher and Clem Haskins come to mind immediately.

If I had to pick it would have between Williams & Pearl for first & the one I didnt pick would be second. Williams won a whole lot more games then everyone expected him to after losing May,Felton,Williams,Mccants, & all those seniors. Pearl did what nobody thought he would do either. Either way they should be 1st & 2nd!
