For the convenience of Vol Nation, I created a snapshot of the latest AP rankings (11-3-24) including each team's remaining schedule, strength of schedule per ESPN, Sagarin ranking, "best" wins & all losses through week 10. "Zero Ranked Wins" refers to current Top 25. Enjoy.

Oregon certainly looks like a #1 team, but they do look beatable by several SEC teams. UGA is a Jekyll and Hyde team. Beat Texas but barely scrape by UK and UF. They look beatable for UT. PSU and IU have easiest path to playoffs and look like locks. Though maybe UM can rise up to give IU a 2nd loss. PSU will probably win out and get the Group of 6 team in the first round at home. They win that and than will lose badly to Oregon. Though the RB from Boise St may run all over them. I saw some folks predicting the Vols playing ND at home. That would be fantastic.

Besides beating Georgia, the first order of business is for Notre Dame to take loss #2 at the hands of FSU, Virginia, Army or USC. We can only hope since their sorry losing asses (to Northern Illinois!) are hogging up a precious spot for the SEC, or Big 10 et al.
Outside of that, having the ACC (Miami, SMU) and Big 12 (BYU, Iowa St) contenders take some L's in order to limit their leagues to 1 spot each would be extra nice. Unfortunately, SMU's schedule is very manageable. Iowa St. could easily take another loss to Cincinnati or Kansas St. For BYU, Arizona St. (6-2) is their toughest test to go.
As it stands, the Big Ten is becoming dangerously close to a lock to hold 4 spots, that is unless one of their 1-loss teams takes another bad loss or implodes. If Ohio St - Indiana is a close game, the losing team is probably safe assuming both teams win their other games. But if Ohio St blows them out, then how could the committee justify Indiana taking a coveted spot based on pitifully easy schedule they've played. Could Michigan play spoiler?
In the end, let's hope Tennessee's loss to Arkansas isn't the deciding factor in a nail-biter decision for the 12th spot.
Now we must simply go out and beat some smelly, sloppy Bulldogs two weeks in a row!!!
Go Big Orange.

What stands out to me is how badly the Big Ten and ACC watered down their conferences by adding a lot of mediocrity. And neither were very strong to begin with.

Penn State will skate through with a loss in the only decent game it will play all season. And everyone will clamor about how great they are to go 11-1 in the Big Ten.

I hate these mega-sized conferences because the scheduling is so unbalanced. Even in the SEC, a school like Texas has it relatively easy when compared to the gauntlet Florida is running.
