Unless there was some serious "entertainment" on that lake cruise, I don't see how that list adds up to $280k.
Didn't a USC booster drop $300k on Reggie Bush 20 years ago? I forget what the total on Cam was rumored to be in '09. And that's just the seagull poop on the tip of the iceberg.

There's nothing new about players costing lots of money.

Eh, I can see it.

That's 28k per recruit. Plus 2 "guardians" that's 9k+ per person. At least 1k travel. Probably 1-2k hotel stay. Fine dining is probably another thousand per person.

And I am willing to be that list wasnt all inclusive. I am sure there was plenty of other stuff going on like merch, shopping, going to some event, and popping around to the must see places.

Iā€™m sure they had a legends event of some sort.

Do you think Arch's visits were typical recruit visits?

They're not spending that kind of cash on random recruits. Arch is possibly a generational talent and arguably merits that expense. Most kids don't.
I don't even think he's the best QB in this class. I wouldn't trade Nico Iamaleava for him.

As far as what Texas spent on his visit is concerned, in order to really impress the Mannings with amenities, it would take a different level of sophisticated luxury than would be necessary to impress the family of most recruits. These people don't fly coach. I doubt Texas would go to this extreme for anyone else.

I'll agree about the Manning family being used to the better things in life but like many here I want to believe the Manning family "can't be bought like that."

As for Arch vs Nico, both seem to have the tools to be elite and it's well above my pay grade to judge QBs at that level. I think Nico will receive better coaching and a better environment to grow his talent than Arch will at Texas.
